    Thanks David

Anyone know what they still have?

I guess you’d need a Short Stirling or a Whitley to prise one off them?

Might be an idea to close this thread now as well before it goes off the rails as well as some other recent threads………

I remember quite a lot of cereal aviation freebies way back then. “Jet” garages had a run of WWI biplanes in the earlly to mid seventies as I recall. I think they were pretty accurate for their time, probably 1:144 though

Well, looking further on the bright side, perhaps in this other part of the world where she may be finished and flown, the bus pass rule won’t apply and a certain gentleman might even write into the terms & conditions of sale that he is allowed one flight when it does?

I always thought it was a dreadful shame that Russ Snadden wasn’t allowed to have a go in Black 6 after all his years of toil and woes….

    Thats a dreadful shame……

Does this mean that the owners are going to develop the site and place housing all over it?

If they are its a bit late isn’t it? The massive over inflated Irish Property bubble is about to burst in a spectacular fashion I understand, as per Australia and the US.

Doesn’t Jet A also have a higher calorific value and requires less energy input to refine than avgas?

Would that be best described as a “Straight in approach” or

a “Low approach and go around” ?

The Constellation thinghy ran off the end of the runway through the tapes if I remember correctly on the way home after an engine failure on take off?

A Starfighter also went off the end of the runway on arrival to the show on its nose also or perhaps another airshow year? Can’t remember if there were regular shows back then?

    You speak true Andy G.

That CGI page is on my favourites list and every time I visit the page I marvel at how incredibly realistic it is! Said page can be found here

    http://www.angel.ne.jp/~tochy/

As for a Dambusters re-make. A simple, yet definite and resounding ‘No!’ all the way…..

Yes…..no to a Dambuster remake…leave well alone please.

No to Chitti Chitti bang bang as well….for all the difference that made. 😮

King Kong? King Kong? Does that celebrated Kiwi have no imagination of his own? He can make a good visual film, can he make his own? LOR was just a CGI test in the end, lost the book early on IMHO….

How about a Bomber Command film, early days, twins only, host of REAL stories to chose from. Japanese CGI assisted?

How about a story from Russia? How many tales to tell? They only lost 27 million people? Kind of makes other nations dubious claims of being hard done by pale into insignificance? How about a German film? PLENTY OF CHOICE

No to Dambusters remake…..Leave well alone please. All remakes are about money, money money money money franchise etc. God forbid “Dambusters V..The revenge”

No to Tom Cruise BOB film re-write as well. Can you imagine our even fewer BOB veterans having to slip off their mortal coils in the knowledge that Tom Cruise actually won the BOB with the help of a few other septic friends? I don’t suppose our real surviving friends accross the oceans would be too happy about another U571 being told either.

    How about the U571 enigma?

    😡
