    With re-enactment of the Axis Forces, one has to remember there is an element of ‘weekend Nazis’ who perhaps, it might be suggested, take things a little too earnestly.

    That BBC programme was a real eye opener, although i have to admit to having had concerns about the whole SS re-enactment thing for years. What really got to me was the look on the WW2 vet’s face when he saw those guys in SS uniforms.

    Maybe if there were more people prepared to re-enact as Wehrmacht rather than some of the more controversal Waffen SS regiments it might solve some of the problems?

    Report on the court appearance;

    As we would say over here, if you saw the head on him you would know he wasnt all there !

    He’ll probably claims his roots and put down roots

    More likely he’ll climb aboard AF1 and head off Westward beating the ash cloud.

    And do G8 by video link.

    None of the above, he just left here early and made it over to the UK without a problem ! And they say Red bull gives you wings, Guinness was there a long time before it !

    no word on what the reason ( if there was any ! ) was for the rampage.

    Apparently the driver was “known” to the Police who tried to stop him in Cork city where he knifed one Garda, stole his jeep and then rammed another Garda car outside the airport before taking the Airport jeep and resuming his antics.

    He is also known to have ripped off his clothes at one stage before he was captured ! So sounds more like a head case than any serious attempt at terrorism.

    looks like he intentionally stopped before the Airbus on the video

    Yep ! Reporting over here isnt much better than anywhere else !

    All in all a very serious incident, hard to think that a nutcase like this could get in amongst aircraft so easily. Imagine if this had happened when there was an aircraft on the move , landing or taking off.

    Hmmm, still reckon that the idea that a passenger could activate the brakes without knowing it is a fairly serious issue, and would definately be so if you were travelling round a corner,were in the fast lane of a motorway or trying to pass another car ! But I was amazed when talking to a friend who has been in the trade for many years to be told, French car, designed as a LHD, not the first time this has happened and not only with Citreon.

    As regards quality only ever owned one French car, a Pug 205 gti, grand wee car, very quick,fun to drive, but the trouble was all the little things that went wrong, switches, door handles, the hatchback openers and rust !

    But always reckoned Citreon was a good enough car not like their big brothers Renault ! Pure junk !
