situated on top of a filling station, destroyed in a film explosion..dammit !
Do you mean the subscription ones sent out in the post ? Cant speak for those I find that any mags delivered by post end up jammed into the letter box and damaged. I picked up mine in a small shop in rural Ireland on Thursday, not sure when it arrived as I had forgotten to look before that !
Another sickening crime.
Forget the politics, I see some people are already trying to attribute blaim, forget about the blaim game for now !!! The people who died, the people who were wounded, the people who witnessed this, the people who are dealing with the loss of loved ones, are just that, People.
I hope the throw the book at this nut case & anyone who helped him.

Saw this photo a while back and again where it ws used as a cover for an addition of “Last flight of the Luftwaffe”.
Had a quick look for in-flight photos of this variant but without any luck so far. What i did come across was photos of the aircraft with rings around the barrell of the gun , in much the same style as you would see on the gun barrell of a Panther or Tiger Tank. Has anyone seen this elsewhere , i thought they marked their kills with small bars on the tail ?
good to see its making such great progress. doesnt the canopy look a bit on the big side ?
Have to agree with all the comments, one hell of a book . The accounts of the account are vivid, the what was mundane day to day stuff, the loss of friends, the honest way he deals with the changes within, make this one of the best personal accounts I have read.
We are very lucky that society and attitudes have changed enough to allow such truthfull accounts to be published. Not that many years ago such honesty about stress and combat fatigue would have been frowned upon.
I feel a little bit embarrassed now because I “run out” in front of you with unchecked info. I have to find out the way to open the clips first and then see if that plane was really “caught” during 1971 (which I doubt) or the clip was attached into the documentary serial from much earlier time.
Btw, 1971 “erupted” mass movement in Croatia (see more at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croatian_Spring)
No need for embarrassment or apologies ! As has been said such mysteries are made to be solved and are a fascinating part of this forum !
Hopefully we will be able to find out a bit more about the film and where it came from…Just the images alone never mind the possibility that there was a Halifax flying around make the search worth while, And we wouldnt have known about it if you hadnt posted !
dont mind the jokes they arn’t meant to offend or anything !
Happy New Year all, You envious Sassenachs dont know how to celebrate New Year properly , not like the Celts here !
i will just grab my hat and coat before the Lions roar !
I have it on good authority that they are buried under the perfume display in Terminal One Duty Free. Barring a miracle, they are unlikely to appear at Legends …
ohh i dont know, they had loads of stuff for sale at Legends last year, nothing to stop some enterprising person bringing along some Brut , Old Spice or Kung Fu to sell to the grateful public….
Ok. New Year resolution, no more daft jokes.
No need to apologise, it was a facinating find and it would be interesting to see where they found it !
Unfortunately i cant view anything on the attached links, what is shown on them?
It has to be old footage inserted into the documentary. It looks to have RAF style fin flashes and possibly a roundel, but no squadron codes visible, and it doesn’t seem WW2 style night bomber camouflage, more a matt greyish effect.
I think we’d all like to know where the documentary producers got the footage from, and what else they might have!!
Reckon the grey colour could be down to various factors, the film used, the age of the film now, light levels etc. There seems to be a lighter colour or colours (possible standard camo?) on the top & i think there might be a rear turret?
zishelix, dont get me wrong it would be fantastic if there was a Halifax still flying in the 70’s and even better if it could be found now but I am afraid that this might just be old footage that ended up grafted in to the film in some way.
Can you tell us if the programme can be viewed through the stations web- site or what date it was broadcast ?
Ohh and well done for spotting it !
