Havent responded before but i cant beleive some of the rubbish i am hearing on TV.
So why are batton rounds and watercannon ok over here but not in London?

Let me say that, yes, i would support people’s right to protest. But the problem is when others, hell bent on creating trouble, jump in and use such an event as an excuse for the sort of madness we have seen over the past few days. We have seen it happen all too often. I would quarantee that 99.9% of those who went on a stealing, looting, burning spree didnt give two damns about anyone being shot or even understand the meaning of the word “injustice” so often bandied about as an excuse for selfish, mindless behaviour.
Like here, I reckon it is time for a serious look at the way justice works, or rather doesnt work. Taking part in a criminal act should result in a free weekend away in a government funded hotel , with free playstations, DVDs, etc. Once someone is definately quilty and i mean definate, If i had my way they would end up in Spike Island, run like a WW2 POW camp : basic food, minimal facilities and no drugs or mobile phones !
Inkworm, i remember my father talking about riding a peddle bike round Belfast in the 40’s & 50’s , getting the wheel caught in the tram tracks and ending up going some place he didnt want to go ,So you can keep your scalextrix on the sitting room floor for now ! 😀
As regards pure electic cars, they would be fine for someone, like me, who only does a few miles per week in and out of the nearby town. But if I was heading off down the country for a once a fortnight trip would need something more practical…
Still, i could do without the almost E600 p.a. annual road tax of my 115 BHP, 0 to 60 havent a clue, mondeo diesel.
Edit; Just remembered all those light blue, three wheeled, Disabled cars from way back, were they battery or some petrol engine akin to an over revved sewing machines ?

What gets me going?
Politicians.
Lying politicians….or are there any other kind?
Fools who dont know anything about how to use lanes at a roundabout. Other fools who drive down the fastlane on a motorway at 15/20mph below the limit with no traffic on the inside before EVENTUALLY pulling in and then back out when you pass them by.
Absolute B*****ds who tailgate you when there is no where for you or them to go…and the same kind of *****s who think they have to pull back into the inside lane 1.5 inches in front of you while driving at max speed on the m-way.
Bloody Daniel O’ Donnell during his all too frequent TV interviews.Sorry to all the blue rinse brigade who love him to bits but there you go !
Security men who think they are really policemen and can do what they want.
Taxi drivers who think they can park ANYWHERE no matter who they are holding up and stay there for 10 mins if they deem it ok…( also see tailgaters above)
Sales that arnt really sales because they bumped up the price before the sale.
Resturants/Pubs who think that 6 chips in a egg cup are enough for two people to have with lunch or dinner.
Sherry trifle without the sherry.
Tyres that seem to wear out a hell of a lot quicker than they used to.
The Irish Shopkeepers/ Cafe owners/ Pubs and general prepared food sellers who didnt pass on a recent VAT decrease to their customers even though it was designed to help increase business by encouraging people to spend more.
The big stores who still persist in working out the difference between euro and Sterling at a rate of £1 = E1.50 when it hasnt been at that rate in about 3 years.
AND the same big stores who charge almost THREE times the price for something just because it is two miles inside the border.
Dont get me started…..
Ohhh nearly forgot untill i heard them barking AGAIN….next doors feckin dogs who bark and bark and bark….and are only shut up when their muppet owners have to go to bed , and arnt drunk enough not to hear them.

Brilliant stuff !
Can only endorse most of what has been written here. It is a special place to visit, but cant be done in one trip. I reckon you would need to be there for many years before you could even scratch the surface so to speak ! Have been there twice now and will be going back !
One small note, if you are going to Bayeux, dont forget to go into the CWGC cemetery there as well. Indeed as you travel around the area inland from the Normandy coast you will find all too many CWGC cemetaries, some quite large and quite close together. Along with Colleville, which is awe inspiring, a thought provoking walk will let you see the reminders of so many lives lost.
Keep an eye open for all the little details as well, there are many small markers or memorials along the sides of the road.
If you are interested in doind a guided tour I can recommend one of the nicest, most knowledgeable quides in the area…i know they dont like adverts here, even if they are only recommendations, so can PM you if you wish.
Have a great trip and as previously advised take loads of photos to share with the rest of us !
Waking this morning to the news that there is at least 91 dead is sickening. But to be honest the news that he appears to have had extreme right wing tendancies is not a surprize. Unfortunately there are all too many of that particular brand of nutcases on the rise and in particular in certain parts of Europe. These far right lunatics are an area that has been largely ignored since the advent of extremist Islam. Do not be surprized if this is not the last example of their kind in action that we see. After all there are plenty more like him.
I hope this prime example of humankind gone wrong, rots in his own particlar kind of hell.

Which led to skeptical thoughts on the idea he had been seen near the bomb area… But is it true that so many Norwegians have blonde hair and blue eyes? I only know a few but none of them have either.
And having seen a pixeled photo on Skynews he appears to have a darker hair colour ? But then, what are claimed to be his Facebook and twitter pages show someone of a different appearance.
Whoever he is, whatever beleif system he subscribes to, whatever warped political views he has, He is one evil piece of crap.

Just heard that they suspect there was an attempt to bomb a train as well, not confirmed but on twitter. The reports on the blonde haired, nordic looking gunmen having been seen near the bomb site are as yet unconfirmed.
First suspects were of course radical Islamists acting in revenge for recent arrests, previous cartoons etc. However unless this guy was a local convert or very well disguised….. There is a fairly strong far right neo-nazi contingent over there who have stirred up trouble a few times. Conjecture at this time is i suppose rather pointless as we could be looking at disgustingly large numbers of casualties both at the bomb site and perhaps even more so on the island. May their God be with the families who even now dont know if their loved one’s are dead, alive or wounded.
Jay, hope you continue to get good news from your people over there.
I am sure i echo everyone’s thoughts here in thinking of those who have died and been injured as well as their families & friends.
Edit: Just on Skynews that the arrested man is a 32 (?)year old Norwegian.
