I asked on the NEAM thread, but heard nothing, so do you know if there’s a service at NEAM for Remembrance Sunday?
Can you believe it’s almost two years since I started this thread with the pictures of 319 reaching for the sky in the snow?!!
I haven’t heard anything myself, but I’ll ask and get back to you.
2 years…….hope that doesn’t happen again…….

Engineering Update
A 28V ground power unit has been sourced to power up the low voltage systems.
Plans are on the go to make / purchase swan necks to enable us to jack up the wheels to reinflate the tyres.
Goahead has been given to create an elevated viewing platform.
More as it happens

Engineering update
Happy to report that we are still getting plenty of visitors even though the weather has been far from ideal for walking around Vulcans displayed outside. This unfortunately has the knockon effect of reducing the ammount of time to do the work.
Sanding and corrosion removal has continued on engine 1 lascelle.
The last remaining seized bolt on engine 2 doors has been sorted.
The two currently empty PFCU bays have been rubbed down.
Identification light has been removed from rear fuselage for repair.
Work has been done to repair main entrance door lock ( ongoing ).
Central fuel / autopilot panel has been unseized.
Ladders up to pilots seats has been unseized, so can now be moved to the stowed position.
Initial investigation into the state of the rearmost ECM door and how to best attempt repairs.

Hi Peter
Yep we’ve thought about trying to reinflate the seal, but as you say it is probably perished, and even if it was intact, it would need to be regularly / often topped up. So we are going to try permantly sealing the join.

Many Thanks and Good Luck !
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Steve Hancock (who has to leave us for now), for his efforts over the last 18 months and wish him well as he pursues his career.

Engineering update
Uncovered a number of parts in the stores which we thought had vanished over the years ( intake tube to engine joints ).
All our engine bay doors now open and close freely after a lot of effort was put in to free siezed bolts and lubricate the hinges. All the doors, and the bays have now been cleaned out, degreased and prepared for priming.
Previous attempts to stem the ingress of water to the cockpit seems to have been only a partial success. A more permanent solution will follow.
A bank of soil recently deposited in the vacinity of 319 is going to be utillised, extended and hightened / fenced, to create a viewing platform giving an elevated view of 319 and other aircraft.
More as it happens !
Red covers with a chrome bit in the centre?
Hi bruce. Yes, teardrop shape, red, double bulb with reflector inbetween.
Wanted !
Does anyone have any idea where we can get our hands on 3 Grimes anti-collision light units for 319 ?
ENGINEERING UPDATE
Not a lot to report of late. Treatment of corrosion and priming has continued, but due to high winds and the danger of being blown off the steps we have skipped a few yards and moved onto the bomb doors, as they could be reached from ground level.
More work has been done on overhauling no. 2 and 3 PFCU’s with no. 4 almost removed.
General cleaning of the underside of the starboard wing was begun last weekend as well as the cleaning/ degreasing of the inside of the engine access covers, all of which will be continued this weekend.
Plans are now in place to jack up the undercarriage to try and inflate the tyres.
More news as it happens.
