This original sketch by Ozzie Jones of Brigand RH831 is in my possession , I have never searched for the crash site of this aircraft , but have a pretty good idea where it came down, believed near the three shires stones on the north west corner of Colerne.
i did meet by chance the chief fire officer who attended the scene after the crash, but that was many years ago, I can remember it was quite a devastating scene he told me, also another Brigand RH760 came down on the west of Colerne, at Ditteridge , same farm incidentally a Boston Havoc came down in during WW2

Hi, would anyone have any Tolerances, or acceptance standards for the Cheetah 9 or 10 engines.
for Non Destructive testing , DPI and MPI Inspection ?
I would appreciate any help, for a friend who is rebuilding one
Dear Ian, Paul , etc ,
regarding N5588 / N5690
I went to the site with Mr Ken Hodges way back in the 80s, when I was a young lad .
I remember the site, very little there, some bits of engine casing, mainly blown .303” ,and the odd bit of skinning, very concentrated in a small area.
A witness who saw the crash living in Shepperdine said
“after the aircraft collided , the two of them were locked together , coming down like sort of like a sycamore seed falling from a tree .
we did wonder if infact they had hit the earth together , or broke apart at the last minute .
I still have a few bits and bobs , but very little
I do miss the old groups , SWARG and SAS , probably one of the best most interesting times of my life
Did the fury have a engine fitted, or was it just cowls,
Sorry my Typo, WW388
George , please contact me regards WV388
Farnborough, it is a new small airfield, but it is on the original site, where 2 T2 hangers originally stood
Thankyou for your comments
Farnborough , the answer to your question is Middlezoy aerodrome is a new airfield on the opposite side of the microlight field , it’s south east of it , and will only have vintage or classic type Aviation , the Hanger is full up of flyers and those being worked on to fly . And of course a ever growing (and we’d love more especially aircraft types that served there or training aircraft ) static project types .
it all takes time but we’re getting there
it’s friendly and welcoming as are are all of those that work/ volunteer there , look up the airfield on Facebook “Middlezoy aerodrome “
I’m sure if contacted they will be pleased to welcome you
