If Russians produce $100m MIG-29 just like EF price . It will be flying in Space. u will need space suits to operate it.Practically unlimited upgrade potential. u cannot compare limited fighter EF with MIG-29. Thats Why MIG-29 got AESA/TVC twin IRST but not EF.
Wow… star….hats off to you…

Your professionalism, expertise, knowledge is simply unparalleled!
I worship you….

I bet the pakfa will have only one god damn weapon bay, the f-22 aim-9 bays is one of the worst design decitions in that project, you consume, space, materials and weight just for these 2 stupid small missiles…
Interesting point. Plus when compared to the F-22 main weapons bay, there seem to be a bigger delay when launching via the side bays. In contrast the main weapons bay works really fast.
Plus:
What effect would closed weapons bays have on IR missiles (unlike the RF missiles)? Lets say 4++ gen A/C (EF, Su-35 with ASRAAM like missile) against a 5th gen A/C with its missiles hidden behind the weapons bay in a WVR battle?
As much as I would like the EF doing Herbst-manouvers on a regular basis, I think we should spend taxpayer money on more important things.
Have a look at the X-31, which shares the aerodynamical layout of the EF. Guess this gives an impression, what would be possible with the ITP nozzles.
BUT, as I already wrote, there are more important things to finance.
Get the British and Italians to sign up for T3 including some goodies as AESA, Meteor and increased internal fuel capacity.

3D TVC nozzles were tested back in 1998. Seems to be a question of cost.
Since rig trials commenced in 1998 the TVC equipped EJ200-01A has run for 80 hours (February 2000) of which 15 hours were at full reheat (including sustained five minute burns) during 85 runs. These trials have included over 6700 vectoring movements at the most severe throttle setting and 600 throttling cycles under the most demanding vectoring conditions. These trials demonstrated full, 360° deflection angles of 23.5° with a slew rate (the rate at which the nozzle can be directed) of 110°/s and a side force generation of some 20kN (equal to approximately to one third of the total EJ200 baseline output). These vectoring trials have included both programmed ramp movements and active joystick control. The studies have also verified the MTU developed DECU (Digital Engine Control Unit) software and FCS connections.
ITP have suggested that a Eurofighter fitted with the nozzle will benefit in a number of areas including; reduced after body drag (through tighter nozzle shape control), an estimated 7% improvement in installed thrust for the supersonic cruise regime (M1.2 non-reheat at 35000ft) and a 2% improvement in maximum take-off thrust.
one my favourite EF demos:
What the….
flag waving? propaganda?
not the place for propaganda eh? wow… ummm ok…
Well the issue could be because this is the MMA and Shenzhou program is technically a civilian program…..
so if that is the case clearly say so, instead of using comments like “flag waving” and “propaganda”? Could have worded the thing a bit more professionally…..
But the “This is no place for propaganda” was baffling….. considering plenty of outrages “oracle” threads/posts in this forum. The Shenzhou VII space walk is a rare event. May not be the 1st buy a long shot, but it is PRC’s 1st and it is rare.
yeah…. sooo… I guess technically a civilian space program does not belong MMA
but, again… very selective finger pointing……
Right, after the Wright brothers got a heavier than air craft off the ground, every nation in the world stopped because it’s already been done. It’s either “replicate” what the US/USSR did 50 years ago or stay earthbound like the other 200 nations in the world. The choices are rather clear — be one of three haves or one of two hundred have-nots.
Exactly what I was wondering… Found it rather funny
Guess we should all just quit after the someone else did the 1st.
Something that got so totally eclipsed by the Shenzhou flight. Nonetheless its important.

Congratulations to the CACC and AVIC, the ARJ-21 has now been officially handed over to the flight test center.
BTW, those are operational KJ-2000s of the newly reorganized 26th Division of the PLAAF (30071 to 30074). Not the same planes as the test flight group with the civilian numbers, 792, B4041, B4042 and B4043).
Not the same planes? So there are more than 4 KJ-2000s if you include the original test platforms? Or 792, B4041, B4042 and B4043 will be handed back CUI?
let just wait and see…
I have come across quite a few of these stuff…
yet to see anything concrete…..
Off-course, IF (and I STRESS the ‘IF‘ :diablo::dev2:) this war ends sooner rather than later, economy has an up-swing (icing on the cake would be the oil exploration (mannar sea IIRC) coming back positive) then it would be logical to modernize with Russian equipment along with Indian assistance as well as certain equipment.
but…uuummmmm lets just say I am not placing any bets..:D 😉
hmm… why do I get the feeling you fellas are walking on thin ice….
anyway on topic again:

waste of money?
how about the ISS and civilian space program is general…
Hyperwarp, here is an article by Prasun Sengupta on SLAF getting MiG-29SEs and Mi-35Ms..according to him, SLAF also wants the IAF to upgrade its Kfir with the Israeli Elta E-2032 and its Mi-25s too..blelieve it at your own peril though..:)
The specs sound like almost as good as the MiG-29K for less than half the price (Zhuk-ME, RD-33-series3)..a little fishy, but I’d guess he’s gotten it wrong somewhere.
anyway, what would the SLAF need R-27ERs and R-27ETs to deal with Zlins, the R-73Es are more than enough so the MiG-29s can get in close, ID them and then shoot them down.. And KAB-500 Kr’s are tv-guided bombs, not laser guided, so he’s mixed up KAB-500Ls and KAB-500Kr.

Loof is gona have a field day…

Small request:
Don’t use the red font colour. One thing, it is reserved for the Admin/Mods plus it can be confusing at times because it looks as if there had been an edit by admin/mod (which not the case in your replies). Use the blue font colour. It gives a decent contrast.
Sincerely,
😮 Hyper :o…
