Are there not significant “tax savings” to be had?
Any WHSMITH in Northern Ireland. The main store in Belfast brings in 1 copy of your publications and when you ask they say their “National Distribution Centre” decides how many copies go out. I know at least 4 people who try to get AW each month that way, lucky for my I have a subscription.
Also “Eason’s” in Northern Ireland used to stock copies in stores I had visited but do not any more. While both Belfast City Airport and Belfast International Airport always have “Flight International” I have yet to see any copies of Key Publishing magazines.
Indeed it is Andrew, just had a quick look through it and noticed it in there as well…so what is your opinion on the airline itself then?
Given I view “Sheila’s Wheels” television adverts as an unfairly biased view stereotyping male driving I’m not too keen on even more divide between males and females.
I think it is mentioned in the Airliner World just out.
If I accept the IOM it will be the end of this month or the end of August, if I decide to go into the hold pool it could be any time mate
BHD is a nice base, plus they always seem to be short of one or two pilots so I assume holding period would be minimal.
Well done Deano! When do you start?
No Valid Reason for “bumping” an old thread.
Correct.
Now, which crazy destinations do you think bmi will send the new A330s to.
I think Leeds – Lille is in need of an equipment upgrade…:D
Didnt I tell you this 1.3 years ago? Seems bmi pilots were telling the truth!
“Boeing Annouced Buy One Get Nine Free on Dreamliners”
Only joking – shows it must be a robust product in the airlines opinions. I wonder if, given it is very new technology like the A380, it might possibly be delayed for things such as wiring etc? After all it aint flown yet….
Anyway well done Boeing!
From what the local news is saying the people onboard were Businessmen who were considering opening a new air link to compete with Aer Arann. It would appear this was their first return flight to get an idea of if it was viable.
So the population of Glastonbury Music Festival pass through Heathrow each day? Thats alot of people, credit to BAA Glastonbury had 2k security staff and they dont search everyone!
I should have opened a mobile airplane tyre replacement service. Im sure one would have a made a fortune off an entire A330!!
a nice wee day at aberdeen was what i wished for and its exactly what i got:
STARTING WITH THE VERY NICE SIKORSKY S92 HELIBUSES 3 OF WHICH I HAD NO KNOWEDGE OF BEING AT ABERDEEN 😮
HM COASTGUARD
G-CGMU is just a month old tomorrow! Lovely looking machine, looking forward to seeing them on BBC Seaside Rescue
It should be white lol
Thats going to take an awful long time to get through the planning stage though surely, particularly with all the oppositon that would come from the BFS camp?
The same problem applies with building even a temporary structure under the terms of the rather arcane operating restrictions the airport has to endure? I’m not even going to pretend to have a knowledge of them all, but I have a feeling even a small development like that would be difficult to achieve?
There is already planning for a temporary terminal structure in place for emergency purposes (i.e. major terminal fire) as they can hire a solution on a few hours notice from McAvoys large stock. I dont think it would take long to get planning permission through if it was temporary until BHD built permanent facilities (such as a Terminal expansion).
The airport is only hindered by the passenger cap which has roughly been fullfilled already. Normal building planning rules apply – nothing special other than aviation considerations such as height etc.
Part of their current planning application is to lift cap and put a take off only runway extension on the 22 end.
