Well with my hour at WEAC (at Belfast Intl) they treated you like a person whereas UFC treated me like “another f’ing trial lesson student who will never do ppl”
They use Warriors up there and the only differance in cost overall is that at Belfast Intl you pay landing fees whereas at UFC they own the airport so you dont pay fees.
WEAC also focus alot on their scheduled/charter ops using an Islander and as far as i know not that many people go with WEAC. I am thinking this means that they will be able to fit me in more there compared to UFC who are nearly always fully booked esp if the days before have been bad!
When it comes to Multi Engine Rating they have the Islander but UFC only have Cessnas as far as im aware!
Also Belfast International is really in the heart of Northern Ireland whereas Newtownards is a good 30-40mins away in a Cessna or Piper so when i go out for the day once i have PPL ill have a better scope of range like up to City of Derry Airport on the North Coast etc
Dean – my AME also said today about Cessna’s being a “bug*er to land”.
I think it seems to just be a trend to do it at UFC as the planes are brand new etc but as any of my friends can tell you i never give in to Peer Pressure!!!!
