G-SUEW is also in Thomas Cook colours aswell:cool:
Are you EVER wrong? :p
Air Berlin took over Belair last March. With the take-over they also got two 752s and one 763.
So their fleet is now B737, B757, B767, A319, A320, A330. Quite a list for a low cost operator.
I am sure they will be watching costs very closely with such a wide fleet. Im surprised the B757s were painted as surely it would make more sense to go with Airbus A321s for similar capacity? Given they are painted it is unlikely they are going to be leaving the fleet any time in the foreseeable future?
BRS-DUB-KEF-YYZ would have been interesting but I imagine the cost would be very uneconomical?
Transatlantic on a B737 doesnt interest me. Too many ideas for FR!
Anyway, I think they should stick ploughs on the front of old and knackered B742’s. That’d work nicely!
Paul
Or just strap two of the engines on a pickup so the exhausts are facing forwards and put them up to full power. That should move the snow :diablo:
I hear Miss October is soon to become Mrs October 🙁 🙁
and Westlifes new video… (it was on Channel 4 one night im not a Westlife fan)
No winches on most of them…
The plough does not have to be any more than 3ft tall guys! On the tender pictured, it would all be mounted below the bumper. Only the lower lights would be blocked (and from experience, they are too low to be useful anyway – they should be mounted on the roofline).
You seem to be basing your theory on this one picture?
Plus what about ground clearance. Aircraft dont always crash on tarmac, off road capabilites need to be achieved at any time. A snow plough on the front would mean it would be very hard to ensure ground clearance whilst still remaining effective. If you are going to talk about lowering/raising it for ground clearance, then you have visibility issues and yet more weight to the front of the tender.
The price of implementing this would probably be more than that of buying a cheap snow plough!
Is it repairable?
In other A340 news an EK A340-600 is grounded at Entebbe multiple bird strikes.
That kind of structural damage would cause warping of the whole body. That kind of thing even is strictly not allowed as aircraft are put under alot of stress.
Maybe they can save things like rudder but fuse will no doubt be a write off.
The crew are lucky to be alive!
Would that not add weight and make them slower?
Paul
Yes and I believe it would block some equipment such as winches and the small joystick operated hose nozzle which is mounted below windsheild in the middle on most tenders?
Good idea but build up of snow on the front could cause problems with visibility etc. Plus i doubt firefighters would be keen to add to their workload?
Ah but 3am this morning there was!
I was just coming off the door then did not see anyway. Wish we had a bit of sleet! I assume you mean BFS had some or do you mean your house in the middle of no where!
No Snow Here 🙁
Aren’t you going to rush out and take some photos “ace” reporter?
Regards,

Kev you know I would but the BBC wouldnt pay plus its a long way away. 😉
Looks like brake failure or a failure to set the breaks?
I am aware of a 20 minute rotation recomendation for all positions to prevent a terrorist being able to let a fellow terrorist through withour proper checks. The theory is that if they change every 20 minutes it is unlikely a terrorist would be in the correct position (e.g. body search) to enable a terrorist with “equipment” to get past search.
