Yeah i agree easyjet is like a charter airline but takeing over these routes are a shame because it would be nice to see British airways (or gb airways) in most place, with easyjet it gives as sense of cheapyness because they havent exactly got the biggest planes have they

One can’t stand sitting in the common classes on these common little planes. British Airways planes, even if the same ones, are much bigger because they can afford to give us privileged few a better service. Rar Rar Rar.

Im surprised at the little damage to the truck. Wingtips seem to get ripped off on a regular enough basis at airports but this incident did not damage to a large extent. The load bearing capability on those must be awesome!

Whilst they are new they seem to be doing their best to push a 5 star product. That was clearly evident when Mark L and myself visited their stand / A320 at Farnborough 2006.

Mind you I wouldn’t rate their Beer at 5 stars!!

Something to do with only getting your domestic plan once you are airborne due to length of time it takes to get to UK airspace from LAX?

Yes, it is an excellent place. I would put it as one of the best around! I posted some pics the other day from it on the airline images section 😉 .

Was that you with the dark coloured coat with the hood up taking photos? I have been keeping an eye out for spotters as our company does Security / Crowd Control / Traffic Management for IKEA Belfast so i have been there alot recently.

    Another silly question from me.

In the case of carriers that have PTV’s in the seat backs in front and the controlers for the passenger in the seat behind the one that has the PTV in it…..how are they connected?

Are the conrollers connected to the PTV in front through cables under the floor and as such, all the rows of seats have lots of cables connecting them. Or, is it wireless?

It is all wired mainly for reliability reasons. Yes wireless would make it easier but that would result in too much data flying about your heads. Wired is a simple case of plugged in / out, less can go wrong.

If it is digital there is more computer processing needed. If it is analogue then its just driven from the main player so just a lead for audio and sound is needed.

Digital need a thicker data cable in order to work as you have more options such as being able to select options.

We are investigating putting breathilisers into our fleet as it is very accurate and can detect if it is your breathing into it or not. Its not that we had had drunk drivers working for us but more so that it drastically decreases insurance premiums. So much so im considering putting into my Navara just to save £300 a year! (it costs £500).

It only lets you start the car if your sober and also prevents people stealing the car as if a registered driver does not breath in, it wont enable the ignition!

I think it was getting very competitive and distracting for the airlines given the huge competition growth. At least with loco fare wars they are bringing flights down to their most basic cost components. With these high end carriers they are having similar price wars but having to maintain a very high level of expenditure.

Obviously the likes of BA can cope for longer without as much profit but i always suspected these carriers would either fold or merge.

That’s brilliant news for Airbus. Im sure if this continues into the New Year we may see some new customers whom stayed away due to delays and concerns over reliability?

Im sure LHR will be packed the day the A380 comes in from Singapore. Could LGW handle the A380 also or is it just LHR for London?

What could be worse is him being wrongly accused of taking command of a plane whilst intoxicated Steve!

I see the fine establishment that is The Mirror printed this. Thought it would be either them or the sun given the anon. Virgin “source” and what was said. Very “dummed down” and sensationalistic!

I buy parts for my A320 simulator from a company that supplies hobbyist and airlines across the world. They are having a tough time so have reverted to Canadian Dollar (they are Toronto based) and have not seen falling sales as a result.

I a sure Airbus will survive but it might be severely effected. Im sure Boeing is alot more worried than Airbus is over the dolllar rate. Boeing will be strangled if the dollar keeps dropping in value. At least Airbus would only be hit in the short to medium term for now.
