Loving A330 reg 😀 Dan has some photographic compeition!
Wys can we request pics of other bits of A340s?
😮 This is the shocker for me. I hadn’t expected that, I’ll still try to get something in Farnborough but I thought i was early. 🙁 But London is okay too I guess.
The big companies like Airbus and Boeing and BAE and the rest know they will exhibit no matter cost so will block book hotels around time the airshow finishes 2 years before. Hence its hard to get rooms. I managed in May 02 to get one for the place where the darts are held – Mark L knows – i got one of last few rooms.
… if the runway isn’t lengthened by then.
When is the next blue moon?
im booking a jet2 flight now 😀
Ethiopian B767 which tried to ditch in the sea after running out of fuel and broke up quite close to the beach. In all honesty, widebody jets are not designed for landing in the sea and I would suggest that, apart from the overrun event mentioned above, lifejackets and liferafts are more there for comfort than any real hope.
Did the Ethiopian not break up because the hijackers banked it violently at the last second and this made one wing hit the water which then made the whole plane cartwheel? May have made safe landing on water if not for the last minute bank made by hijackers…
‘ The Key Publishing 2006 take the p!ss out of Elganathon ‘ :D.
Sorry – going way off topic!!!
Lets start a new thread then :diablo: :dev2: :diablo: :dev2:
andrewm, if u and Mark are available 8-14th then maybe we should set the date for 8th-9th for definite then?
As much as we took the pi_s out of elgan at DUB meet would be good to include him. Plus Mark and i only arrive back on 7th so time to recover would be good!
What about Frankfurt with its viewing area?
EDIT – I know Mark L and myself are only going to be free 8th-14th of July then 31st July to somewhere middle of August.
Im sure it makes sense if they are making money!
Are Ryanair doing what they did with the Stansted route in only filling so much of the plane because of runway restrictions?
I believe the problem related to Ryanairs engines being slightly derated to save fuel? Hence they have to block off 40 odd seats from sale.
Derry can easily accept A320s as the runway is 23m longer than Belfast City. They would porbably need to use TOGA when departing and med auto brake (on landing) but during summer odd FCA and MYT has been to Derry before on a charter.
BTW 24000ft is standard cruising altitude for all LGW-MAN flights because of the detour round east London the flights have a significant extra amount of track miles to get 6000ft higher than the usual LHR-MAN flights which are limited to 18000.
geek…
Maybe the Pilots seemed to be American because Maxjet are American? Just a thought :diablo: Of course Maxjet is a B762, whereas Eos is a B752
Scott
Sorry twas eos. Keep getting them mixed up! Saw the B757 taxing so must have been eos!
I agree with Skymonster as if the requirement is over a year old (before A1’s first ever start date of april) then they should have known about it when they aquired the aircraft. Maybe they got them “cheap” and just thought “wow what a good deal” rather than “why are we getting them cheap?”
When i was departing New York the controller was very relaxed and had a long conversation with the MaxJet 757 about how well they were doing. Pilots seemed to be American!
