UA956 was bloody awful on 19th of December. The aircraft is very umcomfy, the main film was “Kindergarten Cop” which was analogue quality. Only saving graces was the food and ATC Channel on 9.

You have to give them credit for a good twist in the usually “oh she is just mad” plot… I am surprised no one has ever made a plane like that

Just phoned the A1 number and the very polite girl said:

“We are not taking any bookings at the moment. You will need to wait until we released the Summer Schedules and book then.”

Well Summer Schedule starts on 28th of March for Scheduled Carriers…

Stelios brought Ray Webster in to help set easyJet up – he had over 20 years experience with Air New Zealand! BTW SOU is flybes biggest base – they wont take kindly to you entering the market and have a bigger budget that can be used to wipe the floor with you!

You are probably talking £1.5 million to setup an outfit using B737 or equivalent..

Interesting choice of names and not sure they can use an existing name. I know bands definitely can’t if that counts!

Law (in UK)is pretty clear that if someone registers a Ltd before anyone else the name becomes theirs to use and gives them the ability to stop others operating in the UK.
This happens to numerous sole traders ever year where by out of the blue a Ltd set up recently tells them to change name or they will sue. Not much they can do even if set up 30 years before the Ltd.

Given the name conflict will be in the UK (where they both operate in other words) the above law may come into play. I am not too sure what the international legal aspect is. I am not a lawyer but the above is what we covered at Business School and i thought it might help!

Cloud 9, people will not take you seriously if you are gathering information from a Forum! You need to be speaking to someone who knows the airline world! I know you probably dont know anyone but neither did Martin Halstead and he still got somewhere otherwise we wouldnt know about Alpha One. You need to research contacts on the internet IMO.

Maybe a certain someone has sold the name so he can cling onto being able to say “i own an airline”?

I’m flying them first week in February – so I’ll let you know!

Have you checked there is a flight will operate? If so what did they say.

Cloud 9 you may want to identify your market first and then see what loads you could expect (using market research) and then work out what size fits 😉

Also I would recomend speaking to a Business Expert in Aviation field or failing that a shrink. You could always speak to Airbus and Boeing at Farnborough Airshow and ask what kind of a deal they will offer you…
