Wouldnt it depend on where the fire is? As for example ETOPS aircraft have 90 minutes of fire surpression for Cargo and Baggage holds dont they? Also i thinK WYS mentioned that 2 engine aircraft have longer fire supression or something?

Its def not on a par with LH or VS or BA or BD. At least with LH,VS,BD,BD you can sleep on the flight!!! Several people on this forum say UA pilots always sound the most depressed on ATC and compared to all other traffic at JFK our pilot (F/O) sounded as if he wished his life was over and it was hassle to repeat atc instructions!

I admit not all the problems with the flight were UA’s fault, Boeing has a hand in this too – Noisey Cabin from Air Con whine, Overhead Bins not having ceilings to them so stuff is able to fall our in turblance and they dont fit International Standard Size Carry On Luggage!!! My recent Dash 8 Q400 flight had more Overhead Bin Space!

Did I mention the unfriendly crew and suicidal sounding pilot? My dad has been in a few business class cabins in long haul and he rates UA as the worst of the lot!

How do you access them if they are in the Overhead??? Does the cpt have to release the panel from the cockpit to let people get life jackets??

ohhh Interesting. Wonder if MH is involved!

Any website or anything? Bit of a slap in the face for MH if this takes off and proves sucessful!! Seems to be run by a proper company but i stand to be corrected if wrong!

Neighbours crash i thought was very well filmed to be like what I imagine a real crash would be. Mind you the DC3 did still afloat alot longer (at least 1 hour) than you would expect!! Too bad about David, Liliana and Serene dying! Thank god Sky didnt Bmi star and me are thankful for that 😀

Back to Topic before we enter GD teritory!

Thing with BHD is that they are finding it hard enough to fit all current flights on the apron and expansion there wont be approved for a while yet. BFS is full (not to the same degree) as well but would be quicker to expand than it would be at BHD due to various obstacles.

BFS is out of belfast but is about as central as you could probably get in Northern Ireland to appeal to travellers from all over the provience as (as many belfast people forget) there are people outside of Greater Belfast!

A Rail link is probably something never to happen at Aldergrove as it would mean laying new track through a good number of miles through fields etc. The Airport bus is expensive (£9 return) but the Airporter is offering very cheap fares to BHD where a minimal bus fare to City Airport is available.

BFS is lacking but their refurbishment program seems to be taking them in the right directions. Monty P knows more but from memory isnt there an extra loco “wing” to be added and everywhere else refurbished completly?

Aldergrove must be the last airport in the UK to have a open Baggage Area where the public can walk up the belts!!

There were other films but they introduced Kindergarten cop over the PA as the main movie. Given the listings in the magazine were wrong and no PA was made there was no way to know which film was what.

All the films where not digital quality as the sound was not crisp as digital is and neither was the picture.

I flew on it around 10th of Oct 2001 and i think BA cut it the week after. It had a total of 10 passengers on my outbound and 12 on inbound. Our group was 4 strong and included in those figures! Kind of understandable given it was 1 month after 9/11
