    Andrewm.

The fact that he was Brazilian does not mean he couldn’t be Muslim. As far as I am aware from the news there has been no mention of Faith or Religion. It is now known that he was living in London for two years and working as an electrician. He understood English.

It was not a house he left, it was a block of flats. The block was under surveillance but apparently not his flat. The fact that he was wearing a thick jacket has been explained by saying that even in the height of the British summer it is still cold for Brazilians.

Why did he run? Did he not understand the commands from the Police? Was he afraid? Confused? Did he have something to hide? We’ll probably never know.

Sorry for not mentioned but i did know his family said he was Catholic from BBC News 24.

    To quote the BBC:

“Mr Menezes had come out of a house in Tulse Hill, south London, which had been under police surveillance because of a suspected link to Thursday’s attempted bombings.” http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4711639.stm

I believe their information came directly from a Met Press Release. The house was in a Block of Flats.

In further to my post, it would appear there is a chance the named person was involved in some petty crime and thus the reason for him running. Cant say who my source is on this one but you wouldnt know them anyway. His family who are being quoted are in Brazil so would probably have no knowledge of his life here in detail and thus IF he was involved in petty crime they would not know about it as what son wants to tell his mother that!

They chased him down, kicked him down, held him down, and killed him with 5 shots to the head and torso.

No eye whitness has said they kicked him down. The comments from whitnesses are he half tripped on the edge of the tube train step and half was PUSHED down. The Officers from what has been said by whitnesses followed procedure in stopping a suspect and the only “issue” here that people are questioning is the shooting. For all we know he could have reached for his chest cause an officer to shoot him as he could have been reaching to detonate a bomb thus putting the Officers life and Public Safety in danger and making the shooting legal under the old procedures. Under the new procedures he is told to shoot to kill hence 5 bullets with probability these were all into the head thus a very short range as the head is a smaller target than the chest. They are told not to hit the chest as it could expload a potential bomb.

Why is everyone being so quick to “shoot down” the police after they said he was unconnected to the Bombing Attacks? The situation we know about is that he emerged from a house they had under surveillance (they dont just pick houses they would have had reasons for this house). Maybe one of his friends was involved and he was unaware we do not know that. Now he gets a bus to the tube station wearing, to quote a whitness “clothes not right for summer weather” which included a thick jacket. He then goes to the Tube Station and when confronted by Police legs it, yet everyone claims he has nothing to hide from the Police.

Now by this stage the Police officers would have been highly suspicious given the guys behaviour and under the new procedures introduced ARE allowed to shoot to kill a suspected suicide bomber. Therefore when the suspect tried to board a train he was shot, most likely in the head, 5 times.

From what we know the Police have followed protocol as he had the same traits of a possible suicide bomber and came from a house under surveillance.

Because they now say he is unconnected everyone seems to think the Police were wrong. When you have a situation like you do in London, the Police will be on high alert as it is and IMO are right to persue this type of action. I do regret that the man is supposedly innocent but the question still remains why did he run! Maybe some would argue that he was running for a tube. Would a law obiding citizen jump over turnstyles whilst the station filled with police behind saying “Get out Get out”. I have a quote here from his Cousin saying he was afriad of travelling by tube so why when he heard “Get Out Get Out” was he not scared and stop and look back to see what was happening if he was just running for the tube!!

LFC, he was Brazillian not Muslim.

Is it initiative? There may be a reason why there are so few “low cost” routes that involve 8 to 9 hour round trips. I’m dashed if I can think of one but they don’t appear to feature too strongly in either Ryanair’s or easyJet’s network of routes!

Globespan do it and have profited from it.

Ben, are you sure the Flaps didnt go down full or were you comparing to say a Boeing 737 for flaps as airbus ones are different wth only 4 positions compared to what about 6 or 7 degrees settings on a Boeing.

Heres a fact, NEXUS was a Virtual Airline before, I assume of this guy running it. Amazing how a A Level in Business Studies prepares you for running a large company, i think not. Even if you combine Mark L and I we still learn alot! Who wants to take my £100 bet of this not “taking off”!

Since when is stopping in SNN profitable? All the airline who are forced to stop there becasue they fly transatlantic want out of the place.

AC and US only operate in the summer to DUB becasue they cant make money with a stop off in the winter.

DL threatened to pull out of DUB altogether if it wasnt dropped but thankfully only dropped their JFK service.

Im sorry but anybody who think long haul airline stopping off in SNN is profitable needs to take a closer look at what EI and all the other transatlantic operators from DUB are saying.

Sorry my mistake didnt realise it was complusary given not all airlines made the stop.
