If you can’t land an aircraft yet, you want to spend a few days over the Summer researching how the ILS works. When you know how, you will becomed hooked to Flight Simulator (like me). I only got to grips with the Instrument Landing System in the past 4 or 5 months and since then, I’ve used Flight Simulator every day! 😮
I’m currently practicing visual approaches now. They are slightly tougher, but when you’ve strong winds on approach, I tend to use them more, otherwise I seem to end up on a taxiway!
But MANAIRPORTMAD, well done on your first landing. Keep us up to date with screenshots of any trips you make next time.
I was really disappointed this evening after flying a Lufthansa A300 from Heathrow to Cologne in about 55 minutes. Unfortunately, I was flying in ‘real time’ I guess you could say. I set the clock to what the time was (about 8.30pm) and on approach, the local time was near enough 10.30pm, so it was pitch black. I was going to grab a few screenshots of the approach using the replay feature and changed the time/season to daytime. I was careless enough to forget that any replays would be lost if I changed the time of day. Now I’m sulking over it. 😡
