RE: BA announces further 5800 job cuts

    And…

British Airways have almost been forced to withdraw the slogan, “The World’s Favourite Airline”. they are said to be looking for another. But were they ever the world’s favourite? Because I was never asked!

RE: My future on this forum:

If you’re refusing to name anyone and threatening to leave, it’s probably best you just leave. It’s not going to affect the rest of us too much and with new people joining on a daily basis, it’s going to be a mahor loss – clearly this forum is causing too much distress for you.

(I’m not being rude, but this appears to be the case)

probaly seems like nothing but in August 2000, I had to sit and endure ‘yellow submarine’, the extremely low-budget, animated beatles cartoon!

RE: BA – What to expect?

I checked their site a couple of weeks back and it’s a 757-200 going to Barcelona and an A319 on the way back – bit of a change in size!!

RE: Easyjet? What’s so easy about it?

    Hi,

I saw that programme when it was on for the first time a bout a year ago. It’s now on weekdays on ITV1 at about 5pm. I think easyJet are nothing but trouble!

I am flying to Barcelona on Thursday with BA (first time with them!) and the cost of flight is £153.00 or thereabouts. easyJet are charging exactly £150.00 return – I think for the extra £3, I know who’d I’d rather go with!

I think to answer your question, “easyJet.. what’s so easy about it?” the answer has to be, “NOTHING!”

how can you not be a fan of the new look Britannia?! Blue and red looks absolutely brilliant! I have to admit, I myself am not particularly fond of the MyTravel colour scheme. The Airtours look was much better.

Britannia’s looks amazing. Aren’t they merging with Hapag-Lloyd or something like that?

Haven’t heard if it is true, but let’s face it, any colour (including purple) is much better than that black and orange/yellow livery they got at the moment!

RE: New security charges at airports

yes, I would also be willing to pay a mere £7.00 if I knew I was going to be safe and that every passenger was thoroughly checked before boarding and flight. But is this money really being used to bring in more security staff at airports?

In the US, I would expect they charge about the same as UK, if not less. We Brits seem to have a moral panic about just about anything and so, we’re probably paying more for extra security but not actually getting anymore security whatsoever!

(I used the word ‘security’ one too many times… sorry!)

Nope… but if you’re going to Cyprus, fly Cyprus Airways, they are very friendly crew and try their absolute best to make you enjoy the flight!

    RE: Worst UK Airport

Heathrow comes very near the top of my list. Even living a good 20 miles from it, you cannot get a minutes piece. Of course, this does not make it a bad airport. Having never flown from there, I’m not really entitled to an opinion I s’pose! I’m flying with BA on 07 Feb and look forward to taking a look at T1.

    RE: favourite aircraft

I think the most ‘attractive’ aircraft being flown commerically these days has to be the BAe-146. I’ve never had the chance to fly on one, but I would love to one day.
The worst aircraft being flown commerically has to be the 757. An aircraft I have hated for a long time. It doesn’t seem like the work of Boeing as it is so very different to other aircraft which the company manufactures. The nose of this aircraft is unique, I have to admit, but it’s the way in which the aircraft is so skinny that makes me dislike it so much.
