I would have thought the same as you two and that is that it surely cannot work. But if they didn’t think it was going to benefit them, they wouldn’t be replacing Gatwick with Manston.

Got to agree, the board was cluttered with pointless threads. You had to scroll down half the page, just to see the posts that you wanted to.

    Thanks anyhow 🙂

I have bought every Airliner World for about the last 2 years, and I admit it went through a very rocky patch. But just recently its been getting much, much better.

Last months was absolutely superb, fantastic, in depth articles on Korean Air and Luxair, and the Easyjet cabin crew feature was one of the best things I think ive ever read in AW.

Cant wait to get this months 🙂

The best read for me was in one of the Summer 2000 issues, where a JMC Air DC-10 was pictured on the cover. I bought my copy at WHSmith at Gatwick Airport, just before boarding a flight to the Dominican Republic… on a JMC Air DC-10. JMC only had two DC-10s and just my luck to not be on the one that was on the cover.

Fortunately, we flew on this particular aircraft on the return leg jsut 2 weeks later – G-LYON. 🙂

I bought mine today althogh I didnt expect it to be out until next wedensady and I have to say its one of the better issues of the last few months a few of which have been diabolical.

That’s precisely the reason why I stopped my subscription about 6 months ago. I had subscribed for 3 years running and then gave up with the magazine because it was quite simply, rubbish.

Mind you, with an article about the new Bangkok Airport and the new-look Thai Airways, I expect this is one magazine I’ll get to read on the flight down to Paris next week 😛

I’m not too keen either, but I’ve never been particularly keen on the newer range of Embraer aircraft. It looks a lot longer than I had imagined.

Great shots. I’m looking forward to seeing some Manchester traffic in August. 🙂

I think it would be great for the magazine to mention the forums and perhaps talk about what has been spoken about over the past month (since the last magazine).

As for discount, I can’t see that happening! 😉

Well at the moment i use a Fuji finepix S5000 which is capable of 6MP and has served me well for a good year and a half. I have beeen doing aviation photography for about 2 yrs but i think it is time for a change for me.
I would love to have a DSLR but the only problem is price. Maybe i shall wait a bit longer until i can afford one…

My camera is the same as yours. Personally, I think that is more than enough. If you can afford a Digital SLR, then get one, but otherwise, leave it. A Digital SLR is certainly not an essential when it comes to aviation photography.

A fair few of us (including myself) are in Paris for that weekend.

    What is it anyhow?

Will be good to get down to Manchester again!

A B7373 to cover that distance, should be pretty quick….

Yeah, I’m expecting the 757 to be just as quick, hopefully no more than about 35 or 40 minutes.

Also, it will be only my second 757 flight that I can remember, so something else to look forward to. As for the return leg on the A320, that’s not so great, its only been a few months since my last trip on a British Airways A320.

    Nice site there

You are entiled to your own opinion but why are you always so negative? You where the same with Alpha One

Frankly, I believe that if you have something to say, then why not say it? Each and every one of us is going to have an opinion and no opinion is going to satisfy everyone.

Looks like a great website. Well done 🙂

Not sure Easyjet ever implemented that did they? Wasnt it FlyBe who did?

I’m not sure about Flybe, but I’m almost certain that I read on this forum that it was easyJet who were going to introduce this ‘service’. Not a bad idea, but hardly fair on those who think that by getting to the airport 10 hours before their flight, they are going to board the aircraft first and secure the best seats. Probably best that any low cost airline steers clear of this if you ask me.

Never flown flybe before do they have a sit-where-you-like policy?

Did this “Pay £10 and board first” idea ever take off?

Again, something that may appeal to business travellers who want to check-in 30 minutes before departure but still be guaranteed one of the better seats on the aircraft.

Exactly! 😀 Aren’t Aer Lingus ‘no frills’ these days? 😉

Absolutely! There is no inflight service included in the cost of your ticket and if you want purchase snacks and beverages, you pay the same ridiculous prices as you do with low cost carriers and charter airlines.

There main advantage is the fact that they offer cheap fares some of the time and they do actually fly to popular destinations, primarily Heathrow.

I heard they are due to pull out of the oneworld Alliance? If this is true, its great news. Aer Lingus operating codeshare services with British Airways just doesn’t work since the Aer Lingus experience is comparable only to Ryanair. It cannot in any way be compared with the outstanding British Airways service with which many of us are familiar.

think it was going to Malaga?

    Yeah, wasn’t completely sure.

Amazing that the crew were able to hold the Captain where he was until the aircraft landed.
