Maybe the drop off point outside the airport?

Use the electronic check-in to find out what the first row of economy is. Its normally row four or five, but you often find that it is still in business class configuration, so it’s only 2-2 and not 3-3.

Other than that, go for seats 8E and 8F. There isn’t a G, so you get piles of extra space to your right.

I have just tried it 12 times and had no luck either.

Surely it has something to do with the fact that because we click the “click here if you don’t have an e-ticket number” option. By default, it enters KLM2530941325 and so, I reckon the computer is saying that anybody that enters that number can’t win.

You might be able to look up the type used from the airport webste (LHR/LGW). Don’t know how BAA handles it, but Schiphol displays the aircraft type too. Since most routes are always operated by the same type a rough indication can be made this way.

Yup, spot on.

Go to http://www.baa.com/main/airports/heathrow/flight_information_frame.html and this is the timetable for Heathrow. Select the destination and view the days all flights to that destination operate, times of departure and arrival, the aircraft type and the flight number.

With Virgin, it tells you what type of A340 it is as well.

Like I said a few days ago, G-OBYI in the Summer of 2001 from La Romana (Dom Rep) to Gatwick. The aircraft was half in the navy blue and white Britannia colours, complete with Garuda Indonesia titles and tail.
