God only knows how I managed it, but I somehow overlooked this trip report and have only just had the chance to read it.

Great report and first class photographs! The shot of the Manchester Terminal as you took is really something.

I had a look on the KLM website the other day because I’d love to take a day trip to Amsterdam but I’m not in the mood for travelling to Gatwick and flying with easyJet. Instead, I’d rather go from Heathrow, but KLM were quoting totally unaffordable prices for flights that are months away.

Looks like my day trip will have to be bmi or British Airways instead.

    Hi,

I have unlimited webspace and unlimited bandwidth and would be happy to help if you still need somewhere to host it.

On FS2002, Gatwick to Malta in just under 3 hours.

Birmingham to Belfast City earlier this evening with a Flybe Dash 8-Q400. Flight time was about 50 minutes.

Did you land? I’m guessing not.

As great as flying by night is, its not the best time for screenshots!

A great report, Mark. A shame about the delay, but the inflight service seems to have made up for it.

Well, it’s been nearly 2 weeks since something has been posted on this thread, so its time to bring it back to life and to show you the two latest models to my collection; a United 757 (Gemini Jets) in the new colours and secondly, an EVA Air 747-400 (Jet-X/Dragon Wings) also in the newer colours.

Unfortunately, I was yet again charged import duty and Post Office clearance fees on the package, so not as happy as I could be! 😡

Excellent display you’ve got there. Is the terminal made from card? :p

I’ve just spent a few quid on ThresholdAviation.com (as recommended by Ren Frew) and bought the Jet-X passenger version of the EVA Air 747-400. As well as that, there is a United 757-200 in the new colours on its way and an Orient Thai 747-100/200 JustPlanes DVD coming, too!

    🙂

    Nice brief report.

Sounds like another excellent bmi flight to me. Its great how they offer such superb inflight service on a flight of 47 minutes! 🙂

Yes, it would be more attractive.
I only collect 1/500th models from Herpa. Would they still work?

    I think so.

My 1/500 model collection is somewhat limited, but here’s a couple of shots anyway.

A terrible shame. My thoughts go to those affected by this disaster.

I’m going to give that a go T5. How big is your airport?? I don’t know how big the runways are and stuff.

To print off an entire airport is just going to cost a bomb. The only reason I’ve decided to print off a scaled down International Airport is because I’m using one of these inkjet refill kits, so, when your printer runs out, it costs only a few pence to top it up yourself.

For every taxiway, runway, parking area etc that Airigami has, it will require just one A4 page to print off. The actual print area is 20cm x 20cm.

My printoff is 5 squares by 4 (100cm x 80cm), so its big. What is handy is the fact that it very easily folds away for easy, convenient storage! :p And although the printouts are intended for the paper aircraft they have on their website, they work perfectly with 1/400 scale models.

But I’m sure you’ll agree, its a far more attractive way to photograph newest additions to your model collection. 🙂

    i sink into it

lol, you sure that’s not due to rather dodgy piloting? I get that very occasionally when I land with a little too much force.

You must be like me then, needing one or two upgrades.

    Stunning shots!

Unfortunately, I’m quite restricted with Flight Simulator 2002 at the moment. Due to desperately needing some hew hardware and upgrading existing bits, I cannot fly during the hours of darkness and the aircraft I can fly are also very limited. Otherwise, the textures display a little funnily or not at all.

In the New Year, once my pay packet has come through, I’ll be purchasing what I need and I hope to be making some transatlantic flights and putting some of my MelJet 777-200s to the test! 🙂
