    Really nice shots GD1 🙂

T5 – Look forward to hearing your opinions on Phuket, you never know you might be pleasently surprised!

I hope so. It’s not confirmed yet, but I fear that their 747-200s will be a in charter like situation, where you have no leg room and more seats abreast than you’re meant to have.

These aircraft were flying from Phuket and Bangkok domestically only a few weeks ago, now they are suddenly ready to make 12 hours trips.

Does anyone know where I can learn more about that, other than on their website?

So when’s the LAX meet then ?

Can you handle 11 hours by Airbus though ? (lol) 😀

I’m up for it if someone else is!

Better start saving up those pennies! 😀

Just checked Aer Lingus for LHR-DUB-LAX-DUB-LHR fares and am blown away by their prices (in a good way)

    £327.00 (inclusive of all taxes).

    What an eye-sore.

Haven’t we already seen these photos very recently?

I’ve got Thailand again next Spring (March/April time), but I’m not looking forward to it as much as I did this year and last.

Flights are now from Gatwick with Phuket Airlines on a 747-200. For some random reason, it cost an extra £300 per person to go with Thai. I’m now ashamed to have the Thai logo as my avatar – what an absolute rip-off!

I was looking for cheap flights to Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. I would love to go for a few days, have a look around city and to see what the airport offers.

But at more than £600 return for the cheapest ticket, it’s completely out of my price range!

How can they call that a flight to Mauritius?

If it were the same aircraft operating via another airport, that would be a flight to Mauritius. That, to me, looks more like a flight ot Paris.

No doubt they will launch services from Newcastle to Sydney sometime soon, too. NCL – LHR – BKK – SYD!

I’m surprised that Glasgow even made it into the Top 10! It might be good for photography, but you always shoot, fearing that you could be arrested at any second!

I think its great to see Heathrow in at number 3. This is the busiest airport in the country and close to being one of the busiest in the world. The airport does not provide official viewing facilities, but the shots people come away with are exceptional. The nice patch of grass at the end of Myrtle Avenue is a haven for spotters and photographers alike. No spectators area could ever beat the views you get of arriving traffic on 27L.

I think the only runway you have trouble with at Heathrow is 9R. There doesn’t seem to be anywhere decent to stand and watch what’s going on.

Anyone paying it a visit, give Myrtle Avenue a bash for 27L arrivals, the Esso Garage for 9R departures and the Visitor’s Centre for 27R. I understand that the crossing from the British Airways Hangars to the Airport itself is soon to go, but get a look while you can!

I’ll hopefully spend an afternoon in Edinburgh in a couple of weeks and see what the airport has to offer.

I can’t recall a day in the past 4 weeks or so that hasn’t been ruined by rain!

    Anyway, excellent shots, well done!

I much prefer the 747 to be honest, it’s not a bad looking colour scheme.

    Just one problem… that 737 is not a -600 series :p
