I watched the television this morning as some of the survivors who claim they had just left the pub/bar/club arrived at Heathrow. Many of them, understandably, cut their holidays short.
I think it is time for action – something needs to be done. In the past few days we have also seen the work of what seems to be a group of people going around the United States and shooting innocent people. There is little evidence to prove this is the work of Saddam Hussein or Osama Bin Laden though. It has been said that by bombing Bali, the aim was to kill as many western tourists as possible, which has certainly been a mission accomplished. The UK death toll stands at 33 at the moment and it is believed that the number of Australians killed is about 50% – Dreadful news.
I do, however, believe that both Iraq and Afghanistan are both very powerful nations. These are the two targets for Mr. Bush and I think that taking action is going to result in a huge number of deaths.
Not many people seem to agree with putting Saddam’s and Osama’s antics to an end. If this is the only option, then it’s time we give it a go. But by doing this, we’re going to suffer loss of life anyway with our soldiers. Tony Blair and George Bush simply want to seek and destroy two twisted men who have committed horrific crimes recently. Bin Laden and Hussein don’t want to target leaders, but nations and it is this that I find distressing.
