So on the 19th 2 great man lost there lives. And both found there end over the Netherlands.

and didn’t a B24 come over from the US and tour some of the bases for either the 50th or 60th anniversary of the formation of the 8th air force arriving in East Anglia ??

MK959 during a private tour around the airbase by one of the pilots flying the NF-5. This was in, as am not misstaking, 1984. It was taken from its pole and was lying in a hanger to be restored. 10 years later i bumped into MK959 again, this time at Deelen airbase where it was being prepared for 50 years of a bridge to far in the Rijnlandhallen at Arnhem.
