What a fantastic selection of pictures there! My personal favourates are the first two- of the Seafire, and the Seafire and MH434, and the Polikarpov I-15. Have always had a softspot of Polikarpov designs.
Many thanks

With a counter-insurgency you have to get it right 10 times out of 10 attempts
With an insurgency you only have to get it right 1 time out of 10 and it will still have the same potency.

Royal Air Force pilots… simply because they are (IMHO) the most professional, hard working, intensely proud and most capable pilots ever seen in this world or any other.
I bet an RAF pilot could take out Air Force One armed with only a Sopwith Camel and a revolver. The pilot would land on the wing, climb in through the hatch, assassinate Bush, bitchslap the pilots, then get back into the Camel and fly off without so much as a by your leave.

I made a thread on this a while ago, but will try and trawl through the searches and come up with a link.
There was a navalised Ju-87 as well. God knows what devestation that lot would have wrecked on convoys had they had the operational means of transporting them…

I would also like to say how impressed I am that you can articulate your views without resorting to flamebaiting and other such non-tactics. You have actually caused me to consider my views regarding these issues. I can’t say that you have changed them- but you have made me consider my views more closely.
So thank you for this thread, it has been most enlightening.

I know EXACTLY what you mean mate. Watching the film with the Walton Score adds tension in some areas, yet detracts feeling from others. Battle in the Air is the fantastic realisation of a masterpiece score, whereas in other areas it turns IMHO into mediocre. It depends what mood i’m in to which version that I watch.
