The best place for the Shackleton would be the new Avro Heritage Centre at Woodford, but I cannot understand why MOSI wants to lose this fantastic and popular exhibit!

As I understand the situation, the MOSI aviation hall has/will be closed down and the exhibits dispersed. I was last there about three years ago and it had the atmosphere of a place that had given up trying. Where once (I think) there was a Firefly cockpit with Griffon engine was a three wheeler mobility motorbike. No caption, no context.

    Go figure.

The Meteor may well be NF.11 G-LOSM.

Blackbushe was sold to BCA at some time.

As an aside near the airfield was Little Chef #1. When I pointed this out to a former FlyPast editor he felt compelled to visit it, as he was ‘ticking them all off’ on his map!

I went to see it earlier this week with my 23 y.o. son and both of us have it the nod of approval afterwards.

As others have also mentioned, I got the sense from trailers that it looked somewhat ’empty’ on the beach and maybe that’s where CGI could have helped with lines of troops in the distance.

Otherwise it was enjoyable. The effects and the hardware were impressive.
