indeed 😀
1/6.8 model.
French regulations when you are not in dedicated zone : min FL 10
Btw some nice amateur’s video of a Normandie-Niemen Sqd demo
Mach 1.4 supercruise in Air to air config is enough for you? (i don’t have the link here, but you can read and learn a lot from Dassault Fox Three magazine).
Low observable, you probably know the head of SIRPA AIR. He would blob anything if possible…
Sadly he is becoming general this year. God protects his officers…
My bad..didn’t notice the landing gear was that of the Air Force version..
But I do recall reading a report on the Admiral getting a flight on the Rafale M..and back then it was the F1.
May be you are confusing with Rafale B-01 which is a testbed and maybe the most advanced Rafale?
First picture of an upgraded Mirage-2000H..previously we’d seen an upgraded Mirage-2000TH..what helmet is the pilot wearing? A Gerfaut helmet or the Thales TopSight HMDS?
Vincent is a very nice guy, but i think he’d appreciate his site to be cited when you post some of his photos…
Definitive FACT is Mig 35 was dismissed on technical reasons frome MMRCA. coma.
something no Gen 4 has due to electrical power and cooling limitations inherent in designs which date back to the 1980s.
Nice reply. Sad that dubious (at least) sentence was inserted.
Looks like Dassault and HAL have agreed on a co-contractor deal that allows each firm to issue guarantees for the parts they produce that will be used on the Indian-assembled Rafales..that seems to be one issue sorted out now. Follows on from HAL Chief’s statements at AI-’15 where he said that HAL doesn’t need any other company to guarantee what it produces.
The co-management setup would imply that Dassault would take full responsibility for parts that it sources from suppliers (whom it manages) or produces itself, whereas HAL would take full responsibility for parts that it would produce in-house.
Dassault and HAL to be co-contractors for Indian built Rafales
More precisely, he said the offer was the same as in 2012 in euros.
The Rafale’s conformals are exactly as far along as those on the Eurofighter and Super Hornet… that is to say they could be fully developed and ordered but nobody has yet.
Even if they were ordered conformal tanks wouldn’t boost the Rafale’s range to equal that of the F-35, the Rafale would still need external tanks.
You think that is a new idea?
Yes, you would expect better performance. I think its orders so far make it clear that the performance is there.
Point is, Rafale has a longer range than F-35 (including the poor 8% more range given by external full tanks of F-35). “Furtivity” has its side effects, like very poor aerodynamics.
That is not the same as what Sagem is saying about it.
It seems that an airborne image (with specific target marked beforehand) of the target area has to be uploaded to the seeker first, prior to launch. Whether this has to come from the launching aircraft, be in IIR, or can come from a UAV is not stated.
In fact, pre-prepared models exist and can be loaded. Nvm, the weapon has impressive capabilities, no? But there’s a real difference with JDAM, AASM is a propelled kit.
Tomorrow is yearly press conference of Dassault…
Just a single question, Maurobaggio. I was told there was an inquiry commitee about the 900 millions price hike. Is it true?
Enough with the magic UAI already. It does not overcome aerodynamics. It does not address thermal or vibration environments. It does not eliminate safety certification.
i guess that is why it was tested from a F-16 few months ago.
It is not exactly what Hollande said. (I’m not a fan, but this is not what he said)
