Let’s put it simply. A UAE pilot cannot plan his mission without US officers in the loop, and even can’t jump into a F-16 without US approval (birds are guarded by US MP…) Many AMRAAM bought by foreign countires are stockpiled in the US.

Quick translation of the first part…

for more than 40 years,
till the end of the world,
you brought us to frontline.
in Africa, Gulf, Europe, middle east,
you made us shine.
Aerial defence, assault, reconnaissance
you tasted everything.
your line is racy,
your engine soundy…
And tearing.
you smell oil,
you stain our parkings,
and your odor inpregnate us.
No you don’t admit indifference,
No you are not easy to tame,
No you won’t be replaced.
you make us vibrate
In our heart we’ll keep your requirements
in our heart we’ll keep your spirit
In our heart we’ll keep those who left us driving you
Tonight, amongst your brothers
We want to honour you.

I think as long as its coordinated then there shouldn’t be a problem. As much as the US is saying it was caught off-guard by the action (if it genuinely hadn’t sanctioned the strikes), there have long been calls for Arab action beyond funding and arming the opposition.

I’m guessing these weren’t UAE B1Bs carpet bombing the airfield then? 😉

There were rumours of SU24s being involved earlier in the week?

Strong rumours involve Algeria despite denial.

The OP was pretty well dismissed long ago because only black projects would be able to do this exercise of the mind. I’m sure even F-22A couldn’t do it. And turn around times for long trips are nontrivial. Not that aircraft aren’t normally assigned to one crew at a time, so a seat swap is implausible… The only other aircraft that could sustain supersonic speed for such a long trip are all duly retired.

An A-12 used by the CIA is assumed to be retired, but it’s about the only realistic option.

Thought about the oxcart also… But as you said retired for a long time…

Agree San Diego, B1 would be a good choice.

Neither pilot or manual is wrong. Bear in mind I said F-106 is limited to M2.0, just as the same way MiG-25/31 is limited to M2.83. Possible reason is the phenomena manual calls “stall-buzz” which limits pilot to “slow throttle movements (only) between min and max AB” above M1.7. Manual says as mach number limits are approached stall buzz is likely to occur.

So theoratically judging by this graph, F-106 should be able to exceed Mach limits and reach M2.2, or even M2.3+ on a cold day, but if slightest maneuver or throttle movement leads to compressor stall and a ruined engine, this has no use.

Makes me crazy to see those graphs. I’m spending an eternity to get similar ones about Mirage 4000 and i guess they will be on the net few weeks after publication also 😉

Of course i’m kidding…

Did anyone consider some exotic planes purchased as agressors by USA? Some are bi versions no?

But would the French be allowed to integrate their weapons on the F-35? If yes and if they pay for the integration maybe some customers could be interested. The Brits can integrate their weapons beecause they are part of the program.

And the US will certainly field a ejectable missile with WVR capability at some point ( Next generation missile probably ).

Imo block 4 should emphasize air-to-air capabilities, like 6 internal missiles including WVR missiles. We’ll see how it goes…

I don’t think so tbh, although there was a recent shot of AASM from F-16…. And the french are involved in F-35, batteries are SAFT made, some air systems from “Air Liquide”…

The MICA is ejectable but the integration cost would probably be higher than modifying other missiles ( like making the 9X block 3 ejectable or making an IR AMRAAM). And I doubt the US would go for a foreign missile, all the more that the MICA is quite expensive.

Just for info, MICA was the only selected foreign missile in a non existent competition … Not that anyone aver hoped USA to select Mica…

In fact, F-35 and CAS would need a topic in itself…

There is no proof so far that the AIM-9X block 3 will be ejectable, which in unfortunate. From what I understand, the block 3 is more of a low cost upgrade done by the USN to give more bvr range to the super hornet wingtips missiles, the SH being limited in AMRAAM capability in strike mode when its wing pylons are used for bombs/tanks. Its weight will probably be termined by the wingtips ordnance capability.

The block 3 will also be usable by other planes of course but only with rail launchers.

Mica NG could be a good move there (half kidding) :very_drunk:
