The M53 was probably not the best engine to pit against rivalries offered for F-15. In hindsight I’m not so sure Mirage 4k offered any promises that EAP did not already make, plus it had a larger projected customer base. EJ200 was not ready by that time, but it was a technology leap over the M53. France chose to downscale when they designed the Rafale to make it affordable. Would the 4k be affordable in production is the bigger question.

About EAP, nothing common, different weight classes. And Mirage 4000 was a prototype, not a Tech demonstrator. some years before EAP.
Rafale has never been a successor of EAP but of ACX.

ONly if the target is quite close. (with measurable angular movement). So yes quite similar to EODAS (although less sensors, but with very diff tech afaik)

Only thing disclosed is using DDM-NG and RWR (datafusion) Rafale B301 was able to simulate a passive MICA shot way more than 10 NM (intently unprecise) in rear hemisphere (a M2K chasing it).

Triangulation will come with resilts of PEA Tragedac program, i think also with Gripen NG and of course F-35

Not at all, I just find it amusing how foolish this makes some of the fanboy crowd around here look. In fact it was only last year that we had people saying hilarious stuff like the following:

So here we are just about 13 months later and surprise surprise… someone is discovering that the F-35 they dedicated some many hours to railing against is by their own calculation, just about on target for price. (and without accounting for the fact that the F-35 is a generation/couple decades newer)

Anyone taking DNA news seriously???? It’s a web tabloid.
