so are we talking about the Rafale replacement of a derivative of Rafale to carry it through to 2040? You may be able to read between the lines as a native French speaker better than me.

IMHO, a derivative. But no clue.

    UK already betraying on EFCAS????

    Google translate

    UCAVs and British diplomacy
Industry and materials 7 March 2014
FCASEn counterpart launched by the Ministry of Defence , light anti-ship missile (ANL ) considered vital for the Royal Navy , the MoD is committed , after tense negotiations particularly , to spend 145 million euros over two years to fund the first phase of development of the future UAV Franco-British struggle FCAS .
Although shy, this agreement would , for the first time since the Concorde, industrial with often divergent interests to work together on future critical air combat systems . Indeed, if Dassault and BAe are the leaders of the project, Thales and Selex for electronics as well as Safran and Rolls Royce for propulsion should cooperate together.
But a few days later, to the amazement of the French negotiators, the British Minister for Equipment and Technologies Defense , Philip Dunne, signed with his U.S. counterpart , Frank Kendall, a strategic scientific cooperation including on platforms struggle to succeed the JSF … This agreement is in fact the continuation of cooperation dating back to the early 90s , and had given birth to the first prototype stealth drone , the Dark Star.
It is on the basis of this work that BAe realized in 2004 its first prototype UCAV , the Corax , then the current Taranis . The coming months should allow us to know if the Cameron government considers UCAV platforms as strategic to the point of complete two projects in parallel to reduce industrial hazards , or reconnect with some tradition of stirring the Gallic spectrum to facilitate the transfer of U.S. technology .

    Perfide Albion 😎

ARGHHH i let you google translate…

ToT price wasn’t involved in MMRCA RFP. Only plane, lifecycle and upgrade prices. How could anyone tag a price for ToT before auditing tenths of companies???
And ppl tend to forget also industiralization costs.

Fench mindef speech today about innovation…

    figure ensuite l’aéronautique de combat, avec les travaux autour de la prochaine génération, notamment sur les futurs drones de combat dans la continuité du démonstrateur Neuron (ce sont ici des travaux menés en coopération franco-britannique), mais aussi sur les futurs avions de chasse, avec des études sur la furtivité et la guerre électronique (cela représente 875M€ sur la période) ;

So future fighter studied. Should be imo a revamped Rafale.

Every possible report suggest there is some bizarre and terrible aerodynamic problem with the plane. First the F-35 mysteriously (not at all) doesn’t gain enough extra range from drop tanks. The chicken little crowd then takes this as proof that the F-35 suffers from terrible aerodynamic problems that will cripple its range with external ordnance…

Nothing mysterious, datas are from LM presentation to Norway…

True, very true. But at least they didn’t need several types of weapon variations for different sorties. Just an EPWII, that’s all you need.

And a Tornado to do the real job 😎
