The principle of Barracuda is not dropped. Simply expect something looking more like a nEUROn.

Wehn they changed the engines (bigger), they also had to change their position on the wing. This changed quite obviously changed the aircraft behaviour and they applied a patch instead of rewriting the FCS. Result, pb with tail satbilizers. Do not know at all it this is the cause. It might be.

LOL :stupid: I hate to break it to you. Yet, odds are very good that India’s next fighter will be from the US. Which, could be either the F-16 and/or Super Hornet. Honestly, could be both as the Indian Navy is also looking for a new fighter. (I wouldn’t be surprised)

As for sanction the US won’t apply any to India for acquiring the S400. Which, it has made very clear. (again apples and oranges with Turkey)

Nor, is the US “desperate” to sell Military Hardware to India. Which, is not to say it wouldn’t be happy to do so. Just like anybody else.

Please avoid kiddish emotcons and LOLz. This is a adult website, not F-16.net. According to Yahoo news, Trump HAS asked for sanctions if India was to buy S400. And anyway why would India buy plane they already technically rejected as inferior to Eurofighter and Rafale?

I would say not, in the former case it started with a common programme, from which France went out as soon as it gained the knowledge necessary to produce the Rafale (…french).
Now they start from the beginning with two separate programs (instead of three, as Sweden this time is in the Tempest team) and both with a number of partners enough for allow both a consistent initial orders with a certain advantage going to the Fr-De-Es there, than to a real contribution in terms of technology and expertise and in this the case, the advantage of UK-It-Swe is way greater.
All settled then? I would dare to say not, as there are also some problem still lingering and others would surely arise: france would surely ask an absolute control into the definition of design (they didn’t even wanted Spain to join) while I expect an abyss would arise between the respective requisites of members of other teams.

Politics will also play a role: Brexit is looming, last election in Italy and the new ones in Spain and for the EU will change a lot of things…

Went out as soon as… µWhat knowledge they did not already have?

As i said it is ONE indicator. Listen to the interview on Rafale thread. It flies at 200 Km/h (albeit not recommended).

So, odds favor India acquiring the F-16 short-term and F-35 long-term. (IMHO)

With Trump asking to sanction them if they buy S400? Doubtful.

In your history of making silly, unsubstantiated statements, this one is my favorite. The F-35A has been demonstrating lately the very thing you claim it can’t do. The very fact that you use the approach speed of the Rafale and F-35A as some sort of evidence would be laughable if it weren’t a bit pathetic.

Just like many of your comments on the F-35, these last few aren’t going to age well.

While I am a firm hater of the youtube airshow evidence committee. I just love that you wrote the above one week after the demo routine video shows exactly what you are saying the F-35A can’t do:

Wait Hallow! you said it can’t! Please make it stop doing what Halloweene claims it can’t!!!

O.K. enough sarcasm for one day.

Wait FBW, i have seen the demo 4 or 5 times.Did you? Youtube is great at…. Well not at measuring speed of an aircraft. As said above, landing speed is an indicator among others, but you did not bother reading before being kiddishly sarcastic did you.?

I do not deny that US are probably building the best fighter engines. But adaptative cycle is far from being a revolution. However, from “off ” info (believe me or not), next engine for NGF will be 14-15T thrust for a 20T empty aircraft. The aim is also to better master hot parts (being tested at DGA propulseurs in Saclay atm at about 2400K.), so as to use the hot section for civilian engines.

But you have to admire how the man can keep his nerves today (ah, if all Rafale fans could be like him 😎 ).*

    EDIT:
At a rate of 12/y, 10 years might be equal to 7.
    But don’t worry, the man has a plan… “B”!

*At frowning so much after India like an Apache tracking an erratic bear, we might have him converted to… Hinduism?

Just for the sake of information, DA will deliver 26 RAfale in 2019. So much for the 12/year.(which were 11 btw).
