See it like this:
– Imagine a slice of air traveling around the body shape of the airplane. When it reaches the section containing the wings, there is a sudden increase in the value of the section. To compensate for that increase and stay in the limits defined by the area rules (a sinus something increase), the fuselage shape have to be narrowed to balance for the section increase (ex. the F106).
Which is one of many CFTs design problemss… (apart from being positioned on the extrados, therefore dgrading aerodynamics))
Beautiful images , slow motion video on Charles de Gaulle here

Just found that on Dassault website…
A secure high-rate data link is provided to share data in combined air operations in real time with other aircraft in the formation, airborne and surface command and control centres, tactical air controllers or other friendly assets. The Link 16 data link is also available to those customers cleared to operate it.

seems there is a tactical datalink.
hmm in 2010, Mirage 2000 production line was already closed for a while. Proposed version for Brazil is F3R btw.
MIrage 2000-5 and 2000 D are totally diff beasts.
Dassault owns large share of Embraer??? Rafale F2 not F3??? Much higher costs??? Need some clues here pjz
16 hours? Sure?
Spectra was quite extensively used during joint warrior few months ago. (although to exactly which extent…)
nice heavy config

Oh and an image of future according to Air&Cosmos magazine

Depends, you also could have a mix in Sqds, Captor E being used as mini awacs aside captor M. Remember trache 2 should also be able to use captor E

It’s not just LERX, but new strakes and slightly enlarged flaperons to counter the pitch up moment cause by the additional lift of the strakes and LERX. A positive by product is an enlarged wing area and that the same control authority can be achieved with lesser deflection, reducing trim drag.
Should be of help for full (not austere) integration of heavy missiles (storm shadow)
I love Hammerhead look, but it is lacking persistance as compared to other MALE types (even if the drone is derived from the maritime surveillance model).
Btw, in the meanwhile Cassidian announced a first flight for Sagitta demonstrator for 2015
Go Pro video from Rafale solo display at DBX13

So an order for Typhoon in the immediate from UAE is extremely unlikely.
Whereas if the above is true, an order from Bahrain is very likely
Order from Bahrein has always been very likely.
UAE are integrating new LGBs on their M2K, so one could guess they are not in a hurry to retire them.
Btw, a new aerodynamic kit, with extended range flaperons and lerx was presented at DBX13. It is sensed to improve roll rate and AoA to 40° among other things.
Buy french Reco NG pod? (kidding)
