Well if you have remarks like this price , ill transmit. But the reasons why i like the article are elsewhere… He is the only pilot to my knowledge having flown latest versions of Rafale, F18 E/F and Gripen.
Carrying and releasing a heavy weapon are def different things.
Glad to see that at least one memeber read the analysis from a test pilot….
Dunno where to place it, so here. Excellent article imho.
FIGHTERS: THE HEART OF THE MATTER⦠OR, OF THE GENERATION
M2K are very strongly built. A simple stamp or so will in France extend the lifetime of some of last 2000-5 to 9000 hours…Incliding the ones from 1/2 Cigognes. And believe me those were harshly used!
They are to create a new squadron, i had very recently the same news as Msphere. But i was also told UAE arent in a hurry, they ll take time to pressure as much as possible… (very close source)
Will LM allow a plane with better kinematics then F35?
Northrop is partnered?
Aswell as Dassault may woke their yougoslav design (forgot again the name) and partner with US company, or EADS their MAKO rtc. Lets wait and see.
Or Brits may allow us to use Ascencion airbase π
Lets be honest, F35 is certainly more LO then Rafale, specially loaded, as it was designed with “stealth” as a primary requirement (at least on frontal aspect). On the hand, 4.5+ planes where also designed to be open architecture (best example i have in mind, because i know it, being Rafale) and fully networkable. So i wouldnt give such an edge on F35 avionics, software and sensors as other planes are also evolving (eg. GaN antennas for spectra being tested next year). When it reaches FOC, F35 will probably an edge on that point, but as i said above only temporarily as the other types evolve. That leaves us with stealth compromise (stealth vs loadout, range, speed, agility…). Thats why USN compromise looks good to me, F18 being the workhorse while F35 will be used (how many times) for its stealth as “first in”. In many aspects, T50 for ex “look” way less stealthy, but it is imho on purpose, russians didnt want to sacrifice too much of kinetic cpabilities (like F35) or money and sortie rate (like F22).
Nice to see omeone read links π
Ever said that Rafale has better capability. Leave me feed troll in peace π

Interesting pitch on Canadian site, also a pitch from Boeing.
WINNER is usually a teen word in mmorpgs . It is true that Rafale is getting its first AESA (and according to CEAM a very satisfying one) but Thales already have experience in. And praising sensor fusion is a bad move since Rafale one s is generally acknowledged as a top level one, with far more experoence then F35 on that ground. Plz read Vianney Riller Jr test on defesanet, then show me how ASQ 239 will allow a shot in F35 6 o clock using passive sensors and spectra 8 miles away,… the stealth point is right, but Rafale will dodge using fast deep very low level penetration …. Different philosophy, same result, S300 is down…. Wait F 35 never killed S300 in exercise…
