You are very certainly true. I was wondering because according to many rumours, France is gonna lease or lend 2 Fremms to Greece. And thay are much cheaper on some sides : only 90 crew etc. And very credible, no? Ask US Navy 😉

Btw not really fan of italian ones, very ^powerful combat system, but weight and height imbalances an otherwise very well disigned ship.

The day we’ll see a F35 fly unharmed within a S300 zone like a “4th gen” western fighter did, yes we can say that. But until then…

Maestrale could also be a smoke in order to hide Fremm class resale with economic crises in Europe.

Well, that is what press said here. I guess cell reinforcement refers to extension of lifespan to9000 hours like for 1/2 Cigognes Mirages (paradoxal situation : most famous squadron will keep flying mirages…) . About radar type, i’ve seen written RDY3, take it with a pinch of salt. EW warfare suite is for sure. As 2000-5 are going to be slightly modernized, one could guess it is to indian standard. Will try to dig more, but it is uneasy considering Dassault communication politics (see above. And i think its no use describing you the answer whn i asked about indian customization)

Well i’ve seen the T50 flight envelope, 2/3 of a F16. Certainly kinematically best trainer in the world, certainly capable in terms of pointdefence or air to sea, but not suited to air2air vs advanced fighters. Any diff with combat version?

I remember the D had less fuel to make room for 2nd crewmember, it also did away with the gun, Unfortunately @Signatory is gone so no surebet answers available.
The F should have a greater proportion compared to E however,
since the new space provided for fuel is not at the cockpit.

    Hope someone has answers

As I said, we are back to the whole “mothership” idea aren’t we. The key to extending the longevity of the Eurocanards and possibly a reason to develop the LO Rafale…

Either way, in my opinion UCAVs flying alongside manned fighters is the future for the US and Britain/France/SAAB.

The article mentions 7g as being the limit for the UCAV (this must be erroneous no?). I would have thought on of the main points of having unmanned aircraft would be that they aren’t operated around the physical imitations of the pilots.

Also nice to see VARIOUS pop up again (even if only to illustrate the article).

On another note, I’m wondering whether the delay in reporting of the first flight of Taranis is because:

    a) They will report it once the test campaign is complete
    b) They had some aerodynamic enhancements to test that have delayed the whole programme
    c) They wanted to test the visible light cloaking equipment at the same time as the UCAV.

    Discuss.

    Btw, article based on a 13 years old PDF..;

At least i can say new cell reinforcement EW spectra like system and RDY3 radar. I asked for some details at PAS13, but Dassault answered me “its not our politics to communicate about our clients requirements, when you sell a car, you dont claim which options a client asked for” (it was informal interview)

Well i’d be glad if you tell that to CDG mecs that achieved a 1:1 weight ratio. AFAIK (i might be wrong) no other fighter is able to operate from a carrier with more payload then its empty weight.

I’ll give a hand : unoficial record, and mecs did everything they could in order to make the plane lighter… (taking off some parts)
