Err… to kill other planes which aren’t stealthy.
If you’re flying at 200ft it doesn’t matter whether you’re in a Rafale or an F-86. In fact the smaller F-86 might even be more difficult to hit.
blah blah about stealth “magic”. It just means shorter time to detect and react for the opponent. Yes, it is useful. But if you ever went into a back seat looking down, even with doppler, it is difficult to differentiate a plane from clutter. Now lokk Rafale from above, pretty sleek shapes…
There is no interview, it is private talks.
Surely Spain will buy F-35B for its Aircraft carrier fleet to replace AV-8 Harrier, but after this decition (joining program with France and Germany) F-35 A will be not bought for to replace the old F/A 18. I think will be bought more EF´s (tranche 3) until new european 5º fighter generation will arrive. This will be anounced on this year too.
Really I think it is bette solution to buy F-35 A and not more EF´s, and militar oficials think too, but will be a political decition….as in Germany happened.
Either that or make Juan Carlos STOBAR.
FCAS engine model…
If they were that confidence of the self-defence suite, they wouldn’t fly an an altitude where it’s redundant.
Redundancy is a ky for safety. I they were (F-35 engineers) so confident in stealth, would they have radar attack modes?
Simualtors are one thing. Actual flying another.Whatever the quality of simulators. And simulators can be programmed so as to… Oh well.
Here is more detailed reporting on the work done at DRAL assembling the Falcon 2000 forward fuselage section:

As they se to say at DA “bien faire et laisser braire”
Both countries DO WANT to fly it whatever syllabus. Otherwise you are selling PPT.
Not a dual (radar plus/or numeric maps).
But conversely to Danish evel, F-35 will be evaluated in flight, in Finland. Quite a difference. F-35 is already trying to sell the idea of evaluation of F-35 with simulators to swiss. Not sure they will be succesful.
Noone denies that VLO IS a big advantage for survivability. Simply for Raffale they assessed survivability with a diferent concept. Extremely sophisticated self defense suite and capability to fly 550Kts at 200 fts in automatic follow ground mode.
Well. My “souce” about the “bumps” is the former head of project of RBE2 radar (now retired). I guess he knows what he talks about.Look X35, F-22. Flat surface. (Btw, he says Rafale is NOT VLO just LO) in comparison he also says F-35 is VLO except looked up due to those.
They ‘calculated and took care of it’ lmao.
. Yep, on a Dassault software…
Yes and no, quotations will be done on existing versions, but you cannot help examiners to think about future.
Expensive? Perhaps. But there’s nothing more expensive than not achieving mission success.
Agree. That is why is said still good news. A weapon evluation is directly linked to mission success, not in $. Whatever it hits T14 or a toyota.
yep excellent weapon. Sadly also extremely expensive no? Still good news.
