Ah ok. Sry, misunderstood.
I tend to trust Pete on that issue more, sry.
2 things. (i)= some AESA rfale were dowgrade toPESAso as to send some AESA to non AESA Sqds. Backend is strictly the same (albeit the source is replaced , weight balance etc are striclty the same., well documented it takes 2 hours to swap) . I do NOT see any clue in that “no data fusion” just mere assumption. Data fusion on Rafaler is pretty well documented and has nothing to do with the antenna.Off course off board infos are fused!!! Bit shouldn’t that be on Rafale thread?
EPAWS is an excellent news for USAF and F-15. They will be projected in Gen 4++ category… (lol i hate this LMgen classification).
Some AESA and PESA have been swapped so that the AESA dotation is homogenous. The idea is AESA equipped Rafale palying , as some would say “as quaterbacks”. The PESA radars have been upgraded too, sharing the same backend software as AESA and therefore some new capabilities, but it has not been ever contemplated (too expensive/gain). Tomcat is right about AESA orders. For sure, Qatari (EQ, DQ, RB series) are HMS equipped (Targo II for EQ, dont know for india, but my bet goese on it). Test engineer from Istres AFB said that the french AdA shoud be announced very early this year. My bet goes on a Scorpion derivative as Thales is producing it since they bought visionix (and owns a patent necessary for F-35 helmet btw, it’s gonna be funny when law battle is over, which should be very soon as Elbit/Rockwell already lost on invention in supreme court and originality in apeeal court).
Ithink i alreday linked that new version of Mancuso’s conference, talking about GaN,tile architecture etc. https://t.co/EfzYouoNiU
So as to answer to Bio, in may there were 152 Rafale built for France, and there will be no new delivery for France until 2021. 14 delivered to Egypt. Qatari Rafale should be delivered in 2019, aswell as first indian ones (and rest of egyptian + Qatari options are not officially scheduled yet,at least not publicly). In may, during a press conference, DA CEO stated that RAfale chain rythm was above 2/month (11 month a year).
Interestingly, France will send 17 planes including ten rafale in Arctic exercise next summer in Finland.
Very high altitude, terrain hugging over mountains… Enjoy
More details here Tomcat
Qatari aircrafts will be (at least partly) delivered early january. atm pnly Qatari aircraft do have an HMS i think. I waas told the official HMS for France should be announced early this year. There isno Rafale fitted with AESA or PESA, it is a mission type equipment. 2 hours to change te antenna. But i think the ones delivered 140 or so + were AESA originally equipped. (as far as i remember, first AESA equipped delivered was C137). DA had to slow down the delivery rate time to adapt the whole production chain to double its rate.
RTake a look at this ESTO by A400 M! Able to take off on 5 times (i was told 4) its length…
Since you asked, I believe there are 600+ Typhoons on order out of which around 550 have been delivered. For Rafale the number should be around 300 deliveries IIRC but Hallow could confirm. Both those programs have to balance production rates with backlogs (like any other program) to avoid shutting down the line.
Tbh i do not know exactly, but Rafale chain doubled its capacity recently zo as to fill orders. I thnk much less than 300 maybe 200.

As usual, the program is misled. Areal Telenovela. There will be soon 10ths if not hundreds boarded F-35 with FOC, unable to perform proper heavy maritime strikes…
According to Pete F collins it was the most pleasant plane to pilot in its time. (and he was qualified on 110ypes when he passed)
Right on CSO, wrong on Syracuse 4 (aka comsat NG) which was budgeted ( and ordered) in 2015 for a launch in 2020. There are already many syracuse satellites, only one is shared with italy (Sicral). Do not try to understand that way, you’ll get a headache.
@xb-70i’d be interested in results. This is SATCOM. I could not have the values for ERS-a terlinal presently test at Istres test range.Interestingly, latest mil satcom from france was to be launchd yesterday, delayed to today due to hih winds afaik.
Radio SATCOM/LINK for Rafale tested succesfully. Mb/s
