Current JDAMs have a ~12nmi crossrange capability and have wing kits in production.

Per the FY2018 budget docs, the first Block 4 release is due in the 4th qtr of 2020. Since they just completed a review of the FoM program, we should get better details soon and/or in the FY2019 budget docs.

Remind me when was sheduoed block IIIF?

I asked this in the Swiss competition thread, which Eurofighter Consortium nation would be taking the lead on a Swiss fighter replacement entry? UK had the lead in the recent one in Qatar.

In Europe it should be Italy no?

All this is politics only. France would love Germany to buy RAfale because it is not in dire need of an EFCAS and as so Answering ‘yes” to Germany is a political gesture towards more european army structures. Therefore many consider that Germany could “send back the elevator” buying some interim Rafale.

I believe there are NATO regulations for airbase design and runway length, am looking for them. There were the 1950’s regulations (DOB minimum 7,900 ft runway. MOB 10,000 min? ) looking for something newer.

t is simply not acceptable for the Ministry of Defence to refuse to disclose to Parliament and the public its estimates for the total cost of the programme, and to suggest instead that we must wait until the mid-2030s (when all 138 F-35 have been procured) to be able to work out a full unit cost for each aircraft, once spares and upgrades are included. (Paragraph 93)

None of theses investments/non investments are free :highly_amused:
US do it so as to keep a political edge. Many Europe countries are happy with it and so defiant to each other after millinars of war that the prefer a “out of the game” referee (US)

The truth is that comrade Justin would prefer to ignore fast jets and use defense monies to buy more votes from those on the dole.

MAybe the truth is ALSO the former gov. lied to canadian people about F-35 lifecycle costs (see KPMG…)

About radar “powerful” radar and “more manoeuvrable”, these are speculations. Data needed to assess things like that. One could aswell answer that F-15 has the RCS of a A380…
