lets talk about the men at the shop
No warbirds flying without a team in the background. Here some pictures from that fantastic team. I have a lot of fun with them, and the call me “Mr.Friday” and out of that reason, they are very happy when they see me. The reason why is easy to explain : every Friday afternoon, after my bank-job I drive to the MeierMotors facility and take some photos for the homepage, pressreleases and of course for that forum. Friday means weekend, no wonder that the team is happy to see me ๐
Mustang-man Oleg
Oleg is responsible for those P-51-projects and also a very experienced mechanic for those russian Yakovlev fighters

We really dont know what this guy is doing there. He looked like Moses, or even like those pretty girls in the bar dancing at the pole :diablo:

Felix Ohlhoff, our man for engine tasks. He is also responsible for our Spitfire-projects and had several hospitations at our engine partner Vintage V12ยดs Techahapi/CA

testflight with the electric car , from the left apprentice Steffen, mechanic Patrick and at the steering wheel Klaus. Klaus is responsible for several projects as TF-51, the biplanes and so on. He also has a flight licence and makes the flightests with the biplanes in the shop.

BBQ with the webmaster in front. Somtimes Friday afternoon means BBQ. The reason may be a good week, a successful testflight or good weather. At this event we dismissed Juergen Meier to his new job in another facility.

one of our “tin-men” …. those sheetmetalworkers are pure artists. Btw. this guy painted the noseart “Crazy Horse” of the AT-6 D-FXXX

Juergen says goodbye …. thank you for your work and especially for your friendship & good luck with your new job

BBQ

the apprentices are doing their paperwork, Felix is assisting , from the left Jochen-Elmo, Patrick and Steffen

just another duty …. counting and assorting those cotters…. nope Felix is not amused

love that shot of “our” TF-51 D-FTSI, think Marc Mathis at the controls, a hell of a pilot. Thx for sharing
and here is the videofile http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yzOWR-4BDw&feature=youtu.be
Have fun ๐
final stage
last but not least some impressions

to American icons, the Mustang and the Harley Davidson in front of the MeierMotors shop. Btw. Achim himself converted the shovelhead

Thats it … another major project done, hope you enjoyed the journey
just a checkflight
Yiehaaaaaa ….. these are the questions I love whilest AchimMeir is preparing for another checkflight “Hey Matthias, lets take a ride, are you interested ?” OF COURSE I AM
cruising with Achim in the TF-51 “Little Ite” D-FUNN … what an experience

cruising with 250 mp/h, thats it ! On the right my hometown Freiburg i.Br. and the beautiful landscape of the Black Forest

on the left the river Rhein, seperated in two rivers; on the left the french Rheinchannel, on the right the german “Oldrhine”. The french part is used for commercial shipping to Rotterdam from Basel (Switzerland), the german part only for recreational use. These are the small things where you can recognize wether you lost or won a war …….

okay, I am looking a bit strange …. but its not so easy to take a picture of yourself while strapped in the seat and the camera ribbon round your neck, and yes I should shave my skin. Thats a banker looks like when he is on holiday and takes a Mustang ride

final on ETDG

job done

North American TF-51 “Little Ite” – D-FUNN

Spitfire T9 mishap
statement of MeierMotors concerning the T9 mishap :
Last week Spitfire T9 D-FMKN made a belly landing due undercarriage failure whilest a tesflight. The good news is that nobody was hurt. After checking the ac we can exclude technical failure. The owner, the air-fighter-academy GmbH gave us order to repair the damages. We are looking forward to bring this beautiful double seater as fast as possible back to the air.
