At lest that would make a change from celebrating ‘Britain’s legendary fighter jet’.
They must have been reading the Daily Mail 🙂 … Will get that sorted!

Do we need a “Duxford in the 70’s” thread … or is there one already going?
Just testing David 🙂
So here are the b&w shots that I took on the day …
DH Dove G-ALFU (with rudder from G-ALFT)
CASA 352 – or maybe an Amiot AAC 1 – i/d not known
Spitfire F.Vc AR501 – still in film markings from “The Battle of Britain”
Looks like a D.H.88 Comet fuselage ….
Shorts 184, 8359, damaged fuselage section … what’s the other cockpit section in the adjacent bay?
Fuselage section from Rudolph Hess’ Messerschmitt Bf 110
That’s all folks!
Anyone else got anything to add?
With the 40th Anniversary show coming up on Sunday I thought I’d resurrect this thread.
The Javelin was very definitely there on 14 October 1973 …
The P-51D had been newly restored as a static exhibit and was parked outside …
Those were the only colour slides that I took (expensive!) but I have some b&w negs that I will scan and add …
only 50 airworthy left ?

Check out the Freeman Field Recovery Team’s Facebook page. Lots of photos of prop blades which they have straightened and restored. Some very rare Japanese and German examples there.
