This video clip shows the other aircraft involved in this action taxying past the camera. It was “RF-R”, Hereward the Wake, P8039. A presentation aircraft bought by the people of Ely, Cambridgeshire.

Many thanks for that information – will divert my energies to tracking down a clear image of this aircraft G-AIME. There is a poor resolution image on Google Images and one can distinguish “City of Exeter” rear of the Captial “E” in a white circle – if anyone has or can direct me to a higher resolution of this aircraft showing its name clearly it would be appreciated and hopefully appropriate permission to use on Exeter Memories website can be given.
I’ll assume the De Havilland Dragon Trail is a dead end – UNLESS – someone knows different. ! !

Thanks to all who who have responded with infromation to date on this forum.

FollyGate – you may want to check the Silver City Airways archive, they list G-AIME several times:

    Hello,
I`ve been in touch with Billy Dulles who tells me that G AEOH, two Scott engines, all my bits and a HM263 Morrocan Pou (what ever that might be,) were sold to a Don Campbell of Broadhead, Wisconsin, USA who has a small aviation museum.
I wonder if the 2CV Pou builder could say to which end of the engine he attached the propeller and did he remove the flywheel? How did the 2CV engine cope with thrust on the crankshaft, and what about the ignition system?
    Thanks, Dave Tigwell.

Fascinating – I’ll have to see if I can re-acquaint myself with G-AEOH when I’m next in Wisconsin (is it Broadhead or Brodhead?). In the meantime this is how she looked on 31 May 1970 at Baginton:

And I’ve added a few more Poux shots (sorry about the thread-creep)

    TE330

The Chinese Aviation museum at XiaoTangShan near Beijing has a Spitfire XVI – at least that’s what it looks like in the photo in the brochure I purchased.

It has RAF camouflage, coded HT – B and the serial starts with TE….

Unfortunately at the time of my visit in November 2010, it was not on display and I have no idea of its provenance….

    Ken

TE330 – bought at auction for NZ$2.6m in 2008 and gifted to the Museum by a Hong Kong-based businessman. One of the original members of the BBMF (http://www.raf.mod.uk/bbmf/history/historyrafbbmf.cfm). Full illustrated history in Volume II of our magnum opus – available later this year 🙂

Why did Vintage Aircraft cease publication after issue no. 36? Was it for financial reasons?

No – I didn’t have enough time (after 10 years) and Tony couldn’t find another Editor. It was around the time that FlyPast was taking off so we quietly let it die 🙁

I suppose we’re all assuming that because http://www.aeroflight.co.uk lists issue no. 36, and summarises its content, it was published and distributed. Is there anyone out there who can say that issue no. 36 exists because they possess a copy of it?

Oddly enough I have a copy of Issue No.36 (and the other 35 issues for that matter)

Now why might that be 🙂
