    F-35 had issues with F-16D

Another day, another troll post by Obligatory. Of course, another topic beaten to death, but it’s been three week since he’s posted this. Cue well meaning posters explaining why he is misinformed. Spoiler alert, it won’t matter and he will post it again in three more weeks.

The F-35 A and B are in service. Both are deploying overseas next year. Both have participated in exercises, what exactly are you referring to?

Based on the tremendous cost and cost overruns of the Lockheed Martin F-35, I have asked Boeing to price-out a comparable F-18 Super Hornet!

Trump tweets and the world takes notice. Two observations about Trump:
Half of what he says is pure stream of conscious without any follow up, half is hyperbole (occasionally with an intended effect).
Second, he has no concept of the extent and limits of presidential executive power. He may find that frustrating.

You have a nice Christmas.too, Msphere.

Btw, you couldn’t be more wrong on my views of the Iraq conflict. Granted I didn’t care what the evidence was or wasn’t. I thought the plan was poor, execution worse, rationale muddled, and agreed with Gen. Shinseki.

I doubt if there is anyone in the open-source intelligence business who regards RT as a reliable source.

It was sarcasm. What has been obvious to a few for
quite some time, has become apparent to many people lately. The blinders are still affixed for others who find intrigue more plausible than mundane reality.

QUOTE=MSphere;2363597]What makes you think that it’s you who is getting the “real news”? Being a freak in geo-politics I do care to study both sides and actually,

Being a “freak” on a topic does not make your views anymore nuanced. Most likely, I have far more education, experience researching, and writing on post-cold war geopolitics. Would I claim to be an expert, or capable of parsing all news into real or fake? Absolutely not.

on the topic of Syria, the western media bias seems to fit the events much less than what the Russians are reporting.. sorry, bud, it’s just how it is.. given the history of false narrative of enormous proportions on the war in Iraq from the side of the west I certainly have my reservations when I should now believe that Syria is just another rogue state led by an autocratic nut. I would rather spend 100 days with Assad than one day with Abu Mohammad al-Julani, Abu al-Ezz or other crackpots which you, guys, are arming and funding.. sorry..

No, it’s not how it is. It’s what you want to believe. Separate your views from the events and narratives. Again, is there western media bias on the war reporting? Absolutely. There is, however, a large difference between bias and false reporting for the purpose of influencing public opinion.

Again, the assumption is that because I am calling out the false news you and peregrine posted, that I support arming the opposition or removing Assad. Please quote me on my views, I would be interested to read my comments on this.

While even I am not exempt from certain personal preferences which is natural, I still carefully study both sides.. I doubt that you do the same, BTW.. anyway, I don’t need a babysitter telling me what to read and whom to believe.. I am perfectly able to form my own opinion and it doesn’t necessarily have to match yours.. so don’t try to force me your agenda..

The only agenda I have been pushing for the last five posts is that your news sources were pure propaganda, your support for the Eva Bartlett video shows that in no way have you spend nearly the time you should have on researching alt. news or the stream of disinformation (on both sides, mind you) that appears credible at face value.

Both sides of what? I’m not interested in a moralistic argument over Russia or U.S. actions in Syria. Those are purely fueled by your (and my) worldview. I am referring to the active campaign to undermine access to accurate reporting of events, rewriting of history, and disinformation by means of (alleged) crowdsourced news.

No, that isn’t sad.. It’s actually a good thing that even Assad gets a voice in the english-speaking media, even if indirectly.. he, too, has right to speak out.. sure, clowns like yourself would immediately deny him this right if they could bcs you only hear what you want to hear.. but I am very interested in what he has to say about all this..

    – who is denying Assad’s right to speak? Does his government not issue statements? Did SANA stop broadcasting? Has the Syrian envoy’s mic been cut on the UN floor?

Does Assad’s right to express his view mean that we have to swallow the narrative of this fringe radical posing as a freelance journalist? And you can label me a clown all you want, I understand it’s hard to see other viewpoints. In truth, you parrot disinformation campaign’s line (BBC is equivalent to RT, ect.) Even if true, that narrative has been echo chambered via the propaganda machine, and repeated without even realizing you are doing it

I just wasted some more time with you. The force is to strong in you!
At lest some other people that have read what I have wrote will not fall for your theory that F-22 can overstress its airframe doing J-turn 😎

Great so don’t respond to me anymore- BTW, no idea what you are talking about on the J-turn, it was not me.
(love the use of emoji, really forces the point home)

Ahh, the typical “let’s lynch the messenger” dragging through the dirt.. how many times we have seen the same from the usual suspects, be it on the war in Iraq, the F-35 or now Syria? It’s slowly getting boring, really.

No offense, but I don’t expect you to get it. The “messenger” is not a journalist. You can continue to quote alt. news and think that you are getting the “real story”. The rational people in society are slowly waking up to the threat and recognizing the pervasive undercurrent of fake news, propaganda, and information warfare.

You are typical of their target audience, believing media bias (which is a reasonable assumption and accurate) means one can reject media (false narrative, simply put there is a difference between “spin” and outright fabrications), you embrace the “news” that fits your personal beliefs and wishful thinking.

Sadly, it is typical to reject the stories of actual freelance journalist reports from Syria, who are there at personal risk and on no one’s authority, because their filed stories get picked up by media outlets that don’t fit some people’s viewpoints. But I’m sure the freelance journalist (who isn’t a freelance journalist) that was invited by Assad regime to tour and report is giving a more accurate representation of the events via RT.

Aren’t you the same guy who tried to lecture me about Kosovo war and how our army was not able to use its heavy weapons during US-NATO bombing against terorist?

Aren’t you the same guy who claimed Serbia “won” because they were able to keep their heavy equipment largely intact? I would repeat what I told you last time, get a map pre 1991 and then look at the current map. Success and failure in a conflict is not reflected in how many tanks or artillery pieces that were destroyed.

At least your hostility is warranted- your country was humiliated on the field then in the international courts by other Western powers.

For those who don’t know the story of Eva Bartlett. She previously had a blog “In Gaza” on Palestinian treatment by Israel (stating a fact, not going to get into the dynamics of that issue). She as written articles for 21st century newswire (alt. news site) and “The center for Research on Globalization” (alt. new site supporting conspiracy theorist views) MintPress (alt. news site which propagated a poison gas attack story that was disavowed by one of the journalists that was the supposed source) .

She did go to Syria on a journalism visa (via Assad regime), which are strictly controlled. Most freelance journalists working in Syria do not have and cannot get these visas (you can guess why). She did not visit opposition areas, her access was equivalent to a “guided tour”- again via Assad regime. The video circulated via YouTube of the “Peace Counsel” a Syrian Government created entity.

Why does most of the “Mainstream Media” or “MSM” she rails against ignore the type of alt. news she peddles? Most rational people find it hard to believe that fringe personalities are taken seriously. But as we’ve seen lately, this alt. news phenomena is being circulated on the social media and taken as credible.

In no way am I vouching for the information on the sites below as completely accurate (and none are particularly mainstream media either), but it should raise some red flags for those buying the Eva Bartlett narrative. Pay special attention to what Mary Scully, a well known Socialist and critic of pretty much everything the U.S. stands for says about the aforementioned Eva:
    http://www.snopes.com/syrian-war-victims-are-being-recycled-and-al-quds-hospital-was-never-bombed/
    http://www.thelibertybeacon.com/eva-bartletts-claims-syrian-children/
    https://www.channel4.com/news/factcheck/factcheck-eva-bartletts-claims-about-syrian-children

This is exactly the type of alt. news that I was railing against above as a threat. It is not a matter of disliking Western policy, or distrusting Western media. By all means, be skeptical and one’s views are their own. But many are falling into the thought traps “I don’t trust the US or western media sources, therefore those purporting to expose western duplicity or media corruption must be accurate”

She’s been to Aleppo four times.. What have you done in the meantime so that you dare to call her claims horsesh*t?

I didn’t have to do anything. Actual Journalists have fact checked her claims, MSF rebutted her claims about hospitals, nor does that fact that she was there lend credibility to her statements. She is a mouthpiece for Assad via RT.

Take 10 minutes out of your life and actually examine her claim about the little girl Aya. Others have, and in this case the truth is obvious. She lied.

Eva Bartlett? Amazing… simply amazing. I believe you need to read JanBoGo’s quote a few dozen times. Take a look at where you are getting your information and who is generating it and wash the horsesh*t out of your ears.

Edit- And you can forget about thinking that the UN symbol in the back adds credibility to her, she was speaking at a Syrian Government hosted press conference. This “independent-freelance” journalist who happens to work for RT and speaking on behalf of the Assad regime. That sure sounds like an independent freelance journalist. Do yourself a favor, start reading news from all over the world (not just RT and Sputnik, not just western media, and you will see a disturbing pattern about the generation of alt. news).

It is common knowledge on the ground in Syria that ISIS convoyed across the open desert again in clear view of US aircraft and they did nothing.

It is also common knowledge that ISIS convoys fuel to sell to the Syrian Gov. Does that make Russia complicit? Or is it possible that the confused situation on the ground make ID tough and common knowledge isn’t synonymous with facts. Btw, are you “on the ground” in Syria? How would you know what the common knowledge is? Or are you speaking of rumors passed via social media and the like?

Earlier than expected. Most likely a TSP, though the link doesn’t state. Curious which base would house the F-35’s. Lakenheath still has a full compliment of F-15 C/E.
