Your Coolest Car(s) Of All Time?

Inspired by TopGears cool wall;

Mine, off the top of my head:

Aston Martin DBS (old and new)
Aston martin DB9
Aston Martin One-77
Jaguar E-Type (series 1)
Jaguar D-Type (As driven by Mike Hawthorn and Ivor Bueb in the 1955 24 hours of Le Mans)
Land Rover (the likes of the series 1’s, 2’s, 3’s and Defenders)
TVR Sagaris
TVR Cerbera

Many, many others…

…But every time my personal favourite has to be the new Aston Martin DBS. Gorgeously stunning!

Whats yours?

Kind regards

No Morgan has (IMHO) ever reached any degree of coolness until the very latest concept which I think was just shown in the US

Certainly not that thing Richard Hammond drives ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Here’s a render of the new one. Let’s hope it looks a bit like this in the metal

Can mass-production cars really be cool? Anyway.

Most early Maseratis, up to the Khamsin and the Kyalami.

A Reliant Scimitar Shooting Brake. Because all shooting brakes are cool.

These days maybe a Wiesmann MF4-S Roadster, or a Morgan Sport Roadster, and definitly the Maserati Quattroporte.

Town Cars aren’t really cool, but a used one will do 95% of what a new Rolls and Bentley will do (i.e. take you somewhere in comfort and speed) at about 1/20th the cost.

The Lincoln Town Car?

That reminds me, I need a new tumble dryer. ๐Ÿ˜€

Sorry but, American cars…Ufff! The old, proper, Ford Mustang was a nice thing but thats as far as I’d go to say something nice about their cars…

Just my opinion

Optimator’s list is an interesting view from across the Atlantic. The Impala certainly has a wonderful air of post-war excess and you can see why it would earn its place in a cool car list; though my vote would have been for the ’59

Hard to see what makes it cool. Care to expand Optimator?

Quality, I really can’t argue. I still have my Dad’s Dinky model Bentley Blower from when he was a kid on my shelf ๐Ÿ™‚

There were several Bentleys at the Le Mans Classic this year, but in the corner of the paddock was one Blower Bentley!! It was a beast! The guy driving it wasn’t exactly shy about pushing it on the track either. We watched that grid and he was doing well making sure it was competitive.

I guess then there is a central data base the police can access regardless of which state the vehicle enters?

Yes, a big computer network somewhere…

As my list shows, I love Bentleys of that era… though I’d probably prefer not to have a blower to make the car easier to live with and more useable.

I’m after a proper “gentleman’s” car rather than a Le Mans racer…

Here’s one I shot of one at a Seattle-area British marque car show a couple of years ago. Lovely thing with a fabric body.

I’ve been mulling over the thread topic and I am happy to suggest my nomination for Number One coolest car of all time.
