Iraqi Invitation

Apparently, Iraq has invited weapons inspectors from the U.N. to come and do their thing. Also, it seems the United States and some in the U.N. aren’t taking this invitation seriously.

What I make of this is that Saddam is getting a little nervous. It seems he knows what’s likely going to happen to him within the next year or so. I think it’s rather funny that he’s finally getting the message that the United States is serious about getting him out of there actually. He better get ready….

RE: Iraqi Invitation

10 years a go they had to drive all the way to Bagdad.
Swarzkopff wanted to and warned us for the consuquenses for stopping.
And see here, he’s right!!!!
We should have dealt with him at that time, that would only costed a couple of days now it’s going to cost months to do it.

RE: Iraqi Invitation

Are they really serious about getting him out of power or is this just a bit more ‘sabre rattling’ to justify the various ‘no-fly’ zones and embargo’s.
After all they have had ten years to carry out any plan and as such they havn’t so I begin to doubt it and seriously what would they achieve if they were successful?
A puppet government put in power by the West which would have loyalty as long as the was money on the table or just force Saddam to
go into hiding abroad until he can regroup.
I don’t think we should underestimate this man but neither do I think we should rush into military action which isn’t clear or precise in it’s aims and execution.

RE: Iraqi Invitation

Well Saddam is a dictator, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t ‘normal’-moderate people in his gov’t. Last month, our PM spoke to the Iraqi minister of foreign affairs and asked him to cooperate with the UN. Saddam is shitting his pants because he knows the consequences of a Bush in office 😀
