It seems likely – without making oneself a hostage to fortune – that UKIP will sweep the board at Rochester. An emphatic win might well result in a trickle of Tory defectors to the UKIP machine. That trickle could become a stream, resulting in a seismic shift in British politics.
Almost too delicious to contemplate ! Can you imagine the gnashing of left wing teeth ? The first step in releasing our country from EU serfdom.

Everyone I know will applaud UKIPs rise from relative obscurity to become the third most popular political party south of Hadrian’s Wall.
Ukip, to ensure future electoral success must adopt a rigorous candidate vetting procedure and make quite sure that their party card is endorsed with the slogan “make sure brain is engaged before operating the mouth”.

Where have the postal ballot papers not appeared? I can’t find any thing on this after a quick rummage round the usual sources on the web other than the Ex-Pat ones.
In a number of London boroughs. It was mentioned by a caller on LBC, and soon after their lines were jammed with callers
claiming they hadn’t had theirs either. Apparently it’s not the first time it’s happened. The postal vote system is also open
to abuse.
Google “postal votes missing”, and there are numerous cases.

On the available evidence, I would tend to agree that Nige himself, personally, is not racist. However, a significant percentage (but by no means all certainly fewer than half) of the rest of his supporters as seen in the press comments sections on websites (of all persuasions), on balance would qualify as racist.
Edit: since I don’t know any UKIP supporters personally, unless of course they are soft kippers and aren’t owning up, I have no direct evidence to draw on to reinforce or refute this position
Although I’m probably not going to vote, UKIP best represents my views.
I haven’t got any issue with people from foreign countries coming here to make a life for themselves. They contribute a great deal to our society. What I have an issue with is this mass, uncontrolled free for all that is currently happening. Overpopulation is putting such a strain on our infrastructure and resources, and the numbers of migrants coming are making the situation worse. And god knows what the knock on effect will be in a couple of generations time.
Is that racist? I would say that many UKIP supporters share my view, and are frustrated that the 2 main parties are simply ignoring this problem. I would not for a second deny that UKIP has its share of nutters, but the same can be said of all political parties.

If that is true, it is no doubt true of those from the other parties.
If the comments section of the Daily Telegraph are typical, that is certainly the case for their readership whichever parties they support. I am shocked every day by what I find lurking there. The comments that are expressed in the Indy and Grauniad that are a bit dodgy are usually by people who talk about lefties so are probably not labour supporters, but I may be wrong. Racism is not confined to right wingers
