Blatant swearing on forum even when covered up with ****** all over the place isnt really on. A certain amount of it can be tolerated and can be used in some cases to accent a point or has to be used to tell a story but I really dont see any place for it on here.

I in fact am really bad for swearing on a daily basis. But here’s a question Arthur is it PC or not to swear. It is as much a part of my daily dialect as any of my other few thousand word I use. And I have used swear words occasionally on the forum and I hope that they were taken the way they were intended and not just as an abusive rant etc.

As general observation Rules and limits are often broken without consequence but when common sense is ingnored thats when it becomes serious.

Anyway I wanted to ask the question if it was acceptable and within the forum rules to say that an issue or rules or if something is PC or not is all a load of balls anyhow.

Arthur maybe if they are that weak or spinless they need to be put out of their misery and would need a Reapercushion. Not thats not a PC subject to talk about is it. Youthanasia?

Arthur your entitled to your opinion as much as the next man but who are you to say that someones quote is a load of tripe or not. It did come from a very brave man who was made a lot wiser by his own misadventure in the first case. Its fine to make mistakes as long as we learn from them.

We are only human after all. We are not perfect.

Jim, I am not going to spend my time discussing this. As I have said before we have had complain in the past over this issue. When you write a word in ‘*’ people expect or interpret it as a swear word, they don’t think it’s you talking code word about what you had for lunch.

Point taken, and thanks for replying in such an understandable way, I am sure you would have liked to sliped a few **** into the conversation, as I know you have a sense of humour. Will behave in future,
***.

I think people would actually need a “repercushion” if they are weak and spineless.; they’ll need the support. 😀

“Rules are made for the guidance of wise men, and the obediance of fools.”

That quote is probably the biggest load of tripe going. It is used by those who like breaking rules and if it did come from Bader, look where breaking those “rules” got him.

most people in the uk are walking blind and dumb !!

pc , h&s and multitudes of other things are the governments tools to make the uk what it is

a weak spineless nation that can be used as a cash cow that they know daren’t say boo to a goose for fear of repercushion

they are all public moulding tools to control people how they want to

It would appear that you think every you don’t agree with is “P.C.”. Don’t use swearing in your post. It’s in the rules.

Arthur. Somewon once said in a war film.

“Rules are made for the guidance of wise men, and the obediance of fools.”

Nothing to do with all the **** But it a saying that has stuck in my mind over the years, and would like to know what film and who said it.

Don’t know what half of them mean, anyway(!)

Could have a forum swearbox and charge Jim a pound every time he does it.:D

Baz

Well, If thats not the best example of P.C. then I don’t know what is, If I typed a swear word in word for word, it would end up with ******* all over it, Whilst I can see, and even agree, I do think it is a bit OTT, I agree it’s a family forum, but are you saying that even you dont say words that would need a few ***** in them?.
I am open to suggestions. This forum has been running for a long time, just for my info, has this ever been brought up before?.
Not Dissing you Kabir, just want to know where we ALL stand on this.

And to add further to my last, is it being P.C. correct that has seen the demise of “Freedom of speech”.
Don’t see many Soap boxes at Hyde Park Corner as one used to see, and thats a fact.

Jim.

Lincoln .7

Ah, now the reason for that is that soap is now packed in cardboard cartons. The use of these would surely lead to premature descent and subsequent legal action being taken by the descendees against the purveyors of soap packaging materials, being unfit for purpose ie to support the weight of said rebel-rouser and a counter claim by the packaging company against the descendee for misuse of their product.
Now, had the descendee purchased the very reasonably priced Banupastep (pat pending), they he or she, or person(s) of indeterminate gender, they or singly, could safely rebel-rouse to their heart’s content. (Available from all good purveyors of steps or by mail order (see ad in FlyPast adjacent to the article on PC Correctness In Radio Transmissions…) 😀

Lads please avoid using the ‘*’ laden words. Once or twice was fine but it’s getting too close for comfort now. We do get reported posts now and then even for such words.

thanks.

Baz. Only since 2007 according to Wiki.so I was being victimised by the “Council” official .However, he picked on the wrong person that day.

And yes, your right, I should have called a fellow Officer, as I nearly had reached the point whereby I was going to give him a slap!.

Jim.

No, if you re-read wiki, its worded badly, the 2007 bit only pertains to Government buildings. You have always been allowed to fly a Union flag from a flag staff on your own property. No one can make you take it down. I read sometime ago you needed permission to fly a regional flag, say the Kernow flag etc. That rule may have change.

Is it right Baz, that they are discussing whether to incorperate a Cornish pasty in the Cornish/Kernow flag?.:D:diablo:;)

Wouldn’t know, I not Cornish:p

Arthur. It’s a matter of principal now, as long ago was, and also to show others there is a BRIT living in the house.
BTW, it was sited on the front of the house, not in the garden, but if you go to the USA, just about every house flies the “Stars and Stripes” 🙂
