Scrapyard Photos; Any More?

Look like ex Coastal Command Lancs, again! A sad sight.

..A view of the International Alloys yard at Aylesbury 1958. The fuselage of Varsity WJ888 visible on the top of the heap, (+ what look to be Lanc fus sections alongside the fence?).

On the print of the Mosquito, it really looks like TV854.
However…the serial I read on the aircraft to the right of the Avengers is almost certainly TV954…the prints are very grainy.

Although neither of those is a known Mosquito serial (Both in cancelled batches)- could it be TV954? Location COULD be Abbotsinch, but I’ll need to check

Avengers and Hornets, location unknown to me, heard mention years ago of Silloth. Can anyone confirm? One of the Avengers is marked XB384 and the Hornet TV354 or 854.

At NEAM if I am not mistaken….. Is she still being restored, or is she on display?

sorry ive only just noticed this about NEAM, you are correct, she is still at NEAM

unfortunatly…we dont have enough space to display her to her full potential at the moment…the hangar shes in is having to be used for storage as well as aircraft maintainence

but there are talks of a team of bods taking over the restoration on her in the near future…and if our plans go “according to plan” we will be getting new buildings and she will be on full display along with a few “other” exhibits 🙂

MiG-21s?

Mainly 21s since that was the type on strength, but as far as I am aware there was a MiG-15 in there as well. Didn’t have time to poke around, and memory fails. Sorry.

MiG-21s?

Heres some scrapeyard photos from a trip to Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia. In the yard were the remains of an F-5E Tiger,
Bulldog 102 and Augusta 109, air traffic control equipment
left outside plus piles of other stuff.

Can anyone ID this canopy and seat???

I would say 100% as the buildings are very distinctive ,now Copenhagen Int. Airport Google earth shows the buildings still there in 2005.

Yup, but they wouldn’t have been worth that then…. If we save everything, then the value will be lower, and we’d eventually run out of room!!!

Isn’t hindsight a wonderful thing?
