Right then. Saturday’s fast approaching, and I’m looking forward to it immensely. Me and JN-4 will be there, as will various others apparently. From what I can make out, the flying starts at 1830 and goes on until 2000, after which the tentative plan was to retire to a pub to ply Mr Patterson with Old Speckled Hen (while we check his luggage for hidden Spitfires, Lancasters and Sea Hawks! 😉 )
So – three questions:
1 – Who’s coming?
2 – Where are we all meeting?
3 – What time?
I’ll invite the more frequent OW attendees to make the decisions… 😉
Oh, and Airbedane, could you possibly indent for some nice sunny weather for us all please? Ta muchly! 😀

Very good photos Bambi851, pop over and say hello next show – we’re the loud bunch who are usually pointing at cones and making jokes about tweed.
Rob
That’s why I moved away a bit so I could hear the engines. 🙂
It was great to meet some famous faces. I expect ‘We’ll meet again’ around Legends.

Then there was Chris – working hard, watching it all.
What exactly was it with the Hind, Airbedane?

My most magic moment of the evening. By accident, I was behind this when they started it up, and like a giant, man carrying Peanut scale model it whirred its way into the air, directly away from me – airbourne like gossamer.
Pure magic.
Thanks Old Warden.

Thanks Rob,
So you were the ones.. :o)
My first show in over a year and a half, and hoping to do more this year.
Could be trouble 😛

First may I thank the Forum members for welcoming me to my first ever Shuttleworth display.
In the process of us taking the mickey out of Steve you managed to get away scott free! It was good to see you though. Must have been a bugger waiting for the bus home to Sweden though.
While you were getting your first beers in, the Sea Hurricane took a little stroll to test the runway and perhaps wisely didn’t get off the ground.
Especially with the pitot cover still on!

First may I thank the Forum members for welcoming me to my first ever Shuttleworth display. While you were getting your first beers in, the Sea Hurricane took a little stroll to test the runway and perhaps wisely didn’t get off the ground. Here is my humble contribution. Pity about the light later on when the really ancient masterpieces of aviation technology flew, but thank goodness some of you managed to get excellent pics, my digital camera gave up. I set the “film speed” to 800 and have now learned the resulting effect of “grain”!

Jen,
Just take a look at the fifth photo in the first batch that Steve has posted under “England, A Photo Essay” . . . . .
. . . . . he was trying to photograph her FACE!

Someone give MOTF a critical facility then…
Cheers

Bad photographs????
Nope cant say I’ve ever taken one 🙂 😉

Especially for Darren though – and anyone else who likes a laugh, I’ve attached the worst and, believe it or not, best of my super-duper high speed aerial shots…and don’t snigger now (I mean – how do you reckon Steve really ended up sitting on that cone?!!) :p
There’s also a couple of my fave static shots – just to prove that I do, in fact, know how to use the camera!
Jenny
I think these pictures are Fantastic! 🙂 🙂 (Does that help avoid the cone treatment?) :p
I can hardley say anything as I took the shot below, before we had started drinking!

Get out of it, once you’ve bought the camera the photos come free.
Until the next whizbang camera comes out!

Jen, you can get pretty crap photos even with a big lens
Yup, just more expensively!

Thanks for your support Melvin
Good, I hope you wear it.
As Kighters has said, you can do a lot worse, we all have. Betcha I can find stuff just as bad as anyone else. Those that say they can’t are lying.
Is that a big lens or are you just pleased to see me

Thank God there’s two of us….
Hi JN-4
Quite a lot of my photography looks like that.
I’ve been practising twenty years too but I still have a high failure rate.
Keep practicing.
All the best
Andy. 🙂 🙂 🙂
PS The static stuff is OK.

Thanks for your support Melvin – although I have to say..I thought you’d have realised, I’m not easily intimidated by men with big lenses… 😉
And no – never been fishing and caught, erm, anything at all infact…
Especially for Darren though – and anyone else who likes a laugh, I’ve attached the worst and, believe it or not, best of my super-duper high speed aerial shots…and don’t snigger now (I mean – how do you reckon Steve really ended up sitting on that cone?!!) :p

I beg to differ Darren me old son. This little beauty was the object of my desire at that exact moment, hence me not noticing the cone.
Well, that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it! 😀
Thats fair comment. It was a Chipmunk after all, which would explain a lot! (mutual appreciation required at this point!) 🙂

No idea mate, but I took advantage of the sunshine to get these. How on earth did I ever manage to forget just how idyllic the place is…?
