I saw that last night I thought it was alright not that good I dont think this should of been voted for award. I think The rise of the Footsolider was better then American Gangster.

No Country For Old Men for the second time,this time on DVD.A good film but not a great film.Really can’t see what all the fuss is about and I still don’t “get” the ending.

Sat and watched hot fuzz on the hotel dvd the other night ,must say i really did enjoy it ,simon peg seems to hit a nerve with his films and this ones full of stars.

I wouldn’t try to draw any comaprisons between SWAT and the SAS. The SWAT teams are part of the local police department and are under the same sort of constraints as our police firearms units (basically you’re not allowed to open fire until it’s too late to do any good). The SAS, on the other hand, is an army unit with a totally different remit and access to kit a SWAT team can only dream of even seeing used much less get issued for their own use.

Hi There Yeah I know just saying SAS are world class and i did say about SWAT being Police & SAS Army if you where to comaprisons between SWAT then it would be with are CO19.

Last night I watched the film Tears of the Sun with Bruce Willis I thought it was a brillaint film. I liked the end whem two F-18 Hornets bombed the hell out of the Rebels.

Saw the Film SWAT for the 1st time last night thought it was a brilliant film shows what SWAT do and a good job too but they dont beat are SAS they are World class :diablo:SWAT and our SAS are not comparable. SWAT is a police unit with all the constraints they are under, the SAS is an army unit with a totally different remit and loads of good kit that a police department can only dream of seeing let alone getting.

He does ,strange things happen involving his dead daughter and estranged wife.
Hs a good twist at the end.
Not the best film I have seen but worth a look 7/10

Clarkson’s idea of “wit” is making name calling anyone who doesn’t agree with him. If you can’t be funny be insulting, if you can’t be insulting, be crude.
That, it seems, is the current level of UK humor.
While I enjoy the show, he gets more annoying each year.
Dispite what his magazine, TV program, and newspaper column say…he is not the “Car god”. He knows less about American cars than I know about Japanese Amateur wolverine racing.
I suspect he’s believing his own PR stuff.

A Korean movie called ‘May 18’ – 화려한 휴가

I’m a big fan of Korean films and would like to know what you thought of this film.As far as I know,it tells a story about the suppression/murder of a student uprising in a so-called democracy.

Not really films as such, but still providing a good couple of hours’ entertainment….

Top Gear – The Specials

First off, the Top Gear boys attempt to reach the North Pole; Clarkson and May by modified 4×4, and Hammond by traditional dog sled. At times hilarious, other times rather scary, but altogether brilliantly entertaining stuff.

Secondly, the boys have to buy a car for less than $1000, then go through four states in America with them whilst falling foul of locals, as well as numerous technical problems with the cars, and trying to survive on roadkill platters! As above.

I’m not a big car fan, but I LOVE watching Top Gear!! :rolleyes:

On DVD-
Lust Caution.The first 25 minutes are mind-numbingly boring until the first killing,then it settles down to a very entertaining story of the Japanese occupation of Shanghi and how a group of patriotic students join the underground in trying to assassinate a local collaborater.It’s a very stylish film but the very strong sex scenes may be a bit too much for some.
D-War.Based on a Korean legend about dragons,this is one of those bad films you can’t help but enjoy.Good story,bad script,rotten acting,fair to middlin’ SFX.This could have been a very good TV movie.

At the pictures-
El Orfanato (The Orphanage).Based around the story of Peter Pan,this is a cracking psychological thriller from Spain (yes,it does have sub titles) directed by first timer Juan Antonio Bayona and produced by the great Guillermo del Toro.I lost count of the number of times I got goose-bumps and I jumped off my seat at least twice.

Mean Girls – above-average teen comedy starring Lindsay Lohan (NOT in my DVD collection, as it happens!)

Deep Blue Sea – monster sharks chow down on the scientists of an oceanic laboratory while they try to discover a cure for Alzheimers’. Notable mostly for its stunning animatronic sharks, and Samuel L Jackson buying the farm! :diablo:

The last movie I saw was Saving Private Ryan from 1998. I had forgotten how great it really is.
