An absolute must see. It does live up to the hype. Way, way up, above and beyond your expected summertime superhero blockbuster sequel.

Slowly working my way through the Alien Quadrilogy – watched Ridley Scott’s classic on Friday night, and James Cameron’s superior (yes, it bloody-well is, end of story!:diablo:) sequel yesterday…
No it bloody well isn’t Aliens was more of a rollercoaster film and is the best sequal ever made of any film series but it lacks the claustraphobic intimacy of Ridley’s original classic.
IMHO Alien is the greatest Sc-Fi film of all time don’t get me wrong Aliens is a phenomenal film but you can’t beat the original.:)

Agreed.The Director’s Cut only added the “Mumsy” side to Ripley.Whatever version peeps watch this film,it must be in their top 5 Sci-Fi greats.

It was the theatrical release, not the Director’s Cut. I still think that one’s vastly superior.

Change of setting, however, for last night’s entertainment, as I went for Dark Blue World. I haven’t watched much in the way of aviation movies for a while!
Currently watching a classic of a vastly different genre – Pixar’s first (and, I reckon, best) feature effort: Toy Story!! 😀

Dark City-The Director’s Cut.
Gone,thank goodness,is the intro talk-over (It takes it’s right-full place very much later in the film).We are now able to discover the secrets of this story by ourselves.Some scenes are subtlety extended but I had to refer to the original to confirm this.

I tried in vain to watch a 1990s monster flick classic, Tremors on the SciFi channel earlier, but they’d cut so much of it out that I couldn’t stand it any longer…
Previously, I watched My Friend Flicka and Thunderhead, Son of Flicka. The former is the 1940s classic, starring a very young Roddy MacDowell as a Wyoming farmer’s boy who tries to show that he can take on responsibilities around the farm when he takes care of a young filly, named Flicka. The film was recently remade (and did quite well) with Alison Lohman.
Thunderhead, however, takes the usual route of horsey films – the horse-race won by the rank outsider. The last five minutes or so are, for myself, rather disturbing for a U-rated film, as it shows two stallions knocking seven bells out of each other in a fight over a harem of mares, with one of the horses dying in the process (supposedly – if you watch closely you can see his ears twitching!). A so-so film…

This is Ledger’s movie.

It’s high definition DVD. Blu-ray players that are any good will also upconvert normal DVDs to HD quality.

It’s the next super-dooper version of DVD Steve,but to appreciate it you’ve gotta upgrade ALL of your gear (Amp,Telly and Player):eek:.
Don’t know whether it’s reached these shores yet ..I’ll have to do some checking!!
