Victor Meldrew

Well, I guess it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t put something controversial on here, so, We all have a gripe, we all have a Victor Meldrew in us, Should you have the misfortune of being him, what would your gripe be, everything and anything accepted.Only criteria is that it has to be a genuine gripe, that most if not all of us have, or would agree on.
Jim.

You will have to rate each viewing and see if matches ours

Jim, You will have to rate each viewing and see if matches ours.

Is your dear wife going on holiday or simply occupying another room while you get through the lot?:)

I’m a Blackadder/Baldrick man myself……..& I have a cunning plan that incudes the use of a Turnip !! Or as they say in Gloucestershire …a Turmut!!

You can’t beat the good old ones, I too am a fan of Black adder, and also Monty Python.
And as for the life of Bwyan, and Biggus Dickuss, well, need I say more?.:D

My absolute all time favourite is where a thief breaks into VM’s car, nicks his radio, and then has the temerity to phone up and ask VM if he has the operating manual…

Good idea, hate to say it but I probably would be good with that!
I was thinking of picking the Fairey Gannet, air operations with 814 RN Sqn Jan-Sept 1959, but just seems a bit of a dry subject.

Anyone know what was on the roll of film or the photos, That Peter Cook was after?..

The episode opens with a high profile politician (who we don’t see) having an intimate moment with a girl in the garden, this is photographed by paparazzi type Martin Trout (P Cook). The whole episode hinges on his, and our, belief that he has somehow swapped this film with one of Victors (“Oi, Supermans’ grandad!”) and then has to chase him across the Algarve only to find near the end that he actually still had the film on him all along. After processing the pictures do end up in the Meldrews hands.

Having watched “One foot in the Algarve” which I had recorded, I did see Peter Cook as pagon, James, mentioned in another thread, I used to like Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, Moore was, in my mind a brilliant pianist, I could listen to him for hrs.

Hard to pick one, but the one where he returns from a hospital appointment too meet his wife at the Nissan main dealers where they have just had their number plate removed (it was P155 OLE!), he’s tired so decides to have a quick kip in the back of what he thinks is his car as his missus is late.
We then see him just waking up on the back seat and he notices the car’s moving, he then stares in disbelief at the empty drivers position as the camera zooms out and reveals the car to be on the top of a car transporter truck heading up the motorway.

For me it’s when he sees the green Citreon 2 CV in his skip, and of course on opening the back door he finds the proverbial old mattress which he predicted would end up in his skip.:D
