Well, I guess it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t put something controversial on here, so, We all have a gripe, we all have a Victor Meldrew in us, Should you have the misfortune of being him, what would your gripe be, everything and anything accepted.Only criteria is that it has to be a genuine gripe, that most if not all of us have, or would agree on.

Jay, Perchance they may well be having a disagreement with their other half, and by shouting loud enough think they will win the battle.
Just think of how many Sea battles have been won, not by 1st Raters, but 5th and 6th raters. Big, Loud is not always best way forward.;)

Hence shouting by women on mobiles becomes essential to override the bugging/hacking/location sensing:D
On the other hand maybe it’s their hair style getting in the way of their hearing hence the automatic reaction of shouting. Observe if it is the case of women with no hair covering their ears.:rolleyes:

Speed limits on roadworks that the signs claim are there to protect the workers but it is 10pm on a Sunday and there is no other traffic on the road or signs of life, still the variable speed limit cameras though.

US Lawyers. I have never had to deal with any profession with such a high percentage of complete idiots. I’m dealing with SEVEN of these clowns right now on a custody issue & every damn one of them is an utter thicko. I even had to explain to one of them what Due Process under the 14th amendment was last week.
Another one told me he had all he needed to go to court, said he’d pick up all the files etc… & then proceeded to get reamed by the Judge for not having the files he said he’d get & then blamed ME for not giving them to him.. even tho I don’t have them, another lawyer does & that lawyer was supposed to forward the files within 48 hours.. not 30 frigging days… Hello???? FFS!

Having dealt with loads of Accidents, many had been caused by, sorry lads, but HGV drivers who are on a mission to make sure no one gets between them, and the HGV in front.

Fools who dont know anything about how to use lanes at a roundabout. Other fools who drive down the fastlane on a motorway at 15/20mph below the limit with no traffic on the inside before EVENTUALLY pulling in and then back out when you pass them by.
Absolute B*****ds who tailgate you when there is no where for you or them to go…and the same kind of *****s who think they have to pull back into the inside lane 1.5 inches in front of you while driving at max speed on the m-way.
Bloody Daniel O’ Donnell during his all too frequent TV interviews.Sorry to all the blue rinse brigade who love him to bits but there you go !
Security men who think they are really policemen and can do what they want.
Taxi drivers who think they can park ANYWHERE no matter who they are holding up and stay there for 10 mins if they deem it ok…( also see tailgaters above)
Sales that arnt really sales because they bumped up the price before the sale.
Resturants/Pubs who think that 6 chips in a egg cup are enough for two people to have with lunch or dinner.
Sherry trifle without the sherry.
Tyres that seem to wear out a hell of a lot quicker than they used to.
The Irish Shopkeepers/ Cafe owners/ Pubs and general prepared food sellers who didnt pass on a recent VAT decrease to their customers even though it was designed to help increase business by encouraging people to spend more.
The big stores who still persist in working out the difference between euro and Sterling at a rate of £1 = E1.50 when it hasnt been at that rate in about 3 years.
AND the same big stores who charge almost THREE times the price for something just because it is two miles inside the border.

Ohhh nearly forgot untill i heard them barking AGAIN….next doors feckin dogs who bark and bark and bark….and are only shut up when their muppet owners have to go to bed , and arnt drunk enough not to hear them.

Now you are very close to the problem in Civil Aviation – AF447 tragedy of why although they had 35,000 feet to play with and were flying all perfect seconds prior to disaster (no bomb) that a supposed competent and licensed flying crew spent so much time being distracted by erroneous ‘Fly By Wire’ cross messages (caused initially by pitots icing up and giving false speed readings)…..
Oh, for pity’s sake!

Sounds horrendously like the M5 to me, as this seems to happen in the Summer when I go down to Cornwall to see my son.Last year a 5 hrs wait, and then the traffic started to move, then when able to boot it, we never did see the reason as to what the hold up was caused by.

Traffic jams,normally in my line of work not such a bad thing,late for jobs and in the hotel bar earlier.But traffic jams in summer after a rather long night stint and a two hour drive home.
Now its one of them jams that move really slowly,so no getting out or shutting of eyes for five.I could see the services in front too,which beckons me teasingly with the promise of fresh coffee and two hours free parking and a nap.
To top it off because of the warm weather I’m subjected to everyone else’s taste of music,to my left heavy base that to me sounded like an oil barrel falling down stairs,to my right Amy winehouse and hes singing along.

I fail to see what you are getting at, that autopilot/autothrottles are bad? Should pilots be flying manually all the time? A computer is only as good as the information it receives, and given the situation neither the computer or the pilot really stood a chance.

We will be off thread topic if we continue this here, but yes they did drop out after many erroneous auto corrections.
Immediate take back control (auto pilot and auto thrust) by flight crew is what must happen when something as fundamental as speed displays goes ‘t.ts up’.Try it for real, up 35,000 feet, fly at similar speed, throw something over your speed display ( a paper napkin) and arrest control (auto pilot and auto thrust) with no warning, will you crash ? – I hope not as otherwise you aren’t learning the basics of being a good pilot.
